"Morgan!" My mom screeches. I immediately pulled my earphones out.

"Yes, mom!" I ran downstairs to see what she wanted. "I'm here." I say out of breath.

"Morgan I've called you about twenty-three times," I rolled my eyes, she's probably just exaggerating. That's what she does, exaggerate, and that's what I hate - correction, VERY much dislike - about her. "Can you please go get the broom and sweep the deck?"

"But, mom it's a deck, it's outside. It's just going to get filthy again."

"I don't care. Just go do it. I want everything spotless for when our guests come." Oh, yeah. I forgot about that.

"But-"

"No but's, goodbye Morgan."

With a huff, I exited the kitchen and yanked the broom out of the hallway closet making as much noise as possible on my way to the deck. As I was sweeping the dust, leaves, and crap away I was trying to remember the conversation my mom and I were having about who are guests were. I barely listen to her, she's too damn annoying, my father too.

OK, I remember her saying something about we haven't seen them in two years, they're four of them, the son is one of Damon's friends (Damon, my brother, gains friends and drops them like their hot) and then...she lost me there; I tuned out.

After five minutes of sweeping I was done, anyway it looked decent enough. I went inside for a refreshing beverage and found myself a drink of pink lemonade. Yum. Then the doorbell ring. Really? I was enjoying my sweet dream world with waterfalls cascading with pink lemonade.

Ding!

"Mom?" I called.

No answer.

Mom?" I called again, but louder.

Still no answer.

Ding!

Fine, jeez. "I'm coming!"

I swung open the door to find...my brother!

"Damon!" I cried. I jumped on him and gave him a big bear hug. He chuckled and returned the gesture.

"I've missed you Princess Mor." I grimaced and punched him in the shoulder. Hard.

"Okay, fine, sorry." He says holding up his hands with a smirk." I hate that nickname, Princess Mor. Ugh.

"I'm not a child anymore, I'm 16 almost 17, get it straight." I said with sass laced in. He chuckled at that.

"But, you'll always be my baby sister, Mor."

"Shut up." I pushed him and walked upstairs to get dressed. I, honestly, have no fashion sense, so I called my best friend Alissa. She came immediately and made me put on: velvet colored jeans with black Converses, a black California shirt that has a wolf, stars and the night sky on the front, a blue light washed jean jacket and a velvet beanie.

"Thank you."

"Don't thank me," She smiles. "It's my job to make sure you're on fleek."

"OMG." I laugh. "Are you going to stay?"

"Mmmhh, depends. What are you having?"

"Um, I think we are having fried ham, grilled chicken, green beans, yams, corn on the comb, salad, fruit salad, fries, apple pie, and..homemade-"

"HAMBURGERS!" She finishes for me. "I'm staying, of course I'm staying, why would you ask such a question like that if you knew you were going to have hamburgers." I just roll my eyes at her.

The doorbell rings. I guess that's our guests. "Let's go."

I'm almost about to touch the last step when I hear a familiar voice. I look up to see him staring straight at me into my eyes. He smiles.

"Hey, Morgan. Long time, no see." He inches closer inside the doorway, while my feet a glued to the floor.

"Shawn."

A picture of Morgan Walker is at the beginning of this chapter if you have a phone, iPad, iPod, or tablet, if you have a computer I think it's on the side.
