Elliot's POV

"Tira..." I reached my hand out but she turned and ran away. My heart clenched. What did she do to cause all of this? Forgotten memories? But she's a ghost! This kind of stuff was just pure fiction! I refuse to believe that an entire orphanage of around 20 people would just up and forget about someone, but still be clinging to a small sliver of possibility. I looked back and the two kids were hugging each other, pained looks on their faces.

"Gilda, they helped us."

"But they hurt us so much too. Why couldn't they have traded something else for our freedom?"

Freedom? From what? These kids were smart, smarter than any others I've seen! I may not have seen any, but even I was as smart as them back when I was alive despite being praised liked hell froze over.

"Emma said it had to be important."

"But why our memories? Why not theirs?"

That's... that's true. Why not Tira's memories? She's a ghost for crying out loud! What use does her remembering them do for her? For anyone in that matter?

"... I don't know," Don whispered, gently rubbing Gilda's back. I took a step back and walked off, leaving the two in their private moment.

Where was Tira? I need to find her.

I ventured through the halls, the rooms, hell, I even checked the bathrooms as inappropriate as that sounds! I always made sure to look down though for any sort of feet. But even as I cleared the each and every room, I couldn't find a single trace of her. Was she in the garden? That was a terrible choice, especially with those priests barging in and tossing holy water around like we aren't running out of fresh water in the world.

As I passed by a room, I heard sniffling inside.

"Tira?" I asked, peeking inside. I didn't find Tira, but I found that orange haired girl named Emma. I walked up to her and watched as she fiddled with a magnet. She twirled it around her fingers, wiping away tears that dropped onto the shiny surface. I bent down to get a better look at her face, and I froze. Her eyes were wide with some sort of... determination? She didn't look sad or mad like she was when she left the room. What happened during that short time span? Before I could grasp my thoughts, she suddenly stood up and walked over to her desk, grabbing a notebook and pen. She tossed herself onto the bed and started scribbling right away.

"Magnet... memory... Kieran?" I mumbled, reading out the keywords I pulled from her messy notes. Out of nowhere she slammed the pen down onto the notebook and I jumped. Where the hell did that come from?

"Hey," she said and I froze. A chill ran up my spine as we made eye contact. This was impossible, right? There's no way she can see me. I'm dead for crying out loud! I took a hesitant step forward, waving a hand in front of me. She didn't blink.

"I don't see anyone there, but I feel you," she whispered out, turning her body to face me fully. I held my breath.

"It's strange. Usually I feel someone else with me, like when I was going to public school at times, but... this is different. You're different."

"Uh..." I trailed off. Was she expecting me to say something? Did she expect to hear me?

"I don't think I'm going crazy after..." She paused as guilt flashed across her face. As quickly as it came, it left. "But it's a familiar feeling. You aren't the same I'm pretty sure, but you're the same in the sense that there's something, or someone, here with me." She got up from her bed and it was almost like magic that she started walking around me in circles.

"If you can help us," she quietly asked. "Just to deliver a simple message, tell them this."

"We miss you."

A/N: OMG WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING- OKay I need to stop because I literally don't ever know what's happening atm. But I would expect Emma or Norman to be the ones most sensitive to ghosts and apparitions and stuff like that. They're more likely to believe in these sorts of things since they can't prove that they don't exist, and so they believe that they do. Ray would also have the same mindset, but instead of believing they exist he wouldn't and instead would say something along the lines of "If they exist then they better prove it to me" or just not care that they do XD But anyways, I've been on a ROLL with these chapters! I honestly finished four of these in one go, the last two, this one, and a future one because I'm scatterbrained XP But you'll know which one it is when you read the author's note XD Also I'm going to update this later today XD I lied in the last chapter, have fun with this chappy y'all! And I got like, 20% of my big project homework done, so this was a treat well deserved for me! Since this is getting wayyyyyyyy too long, bye for now XDXDXDXDXD
