A month has passed since the day he almost permanently lost his limbs but still it hurts more sown back to his body than when he lost it

The pain and numbness confused his mind yet was overpowered by the itch and burning sensation that spiked every now and then

Everything hurts

He couldn't comprehend how he even managed to sit up back then cause now he felt like dying could be a better option

Yet he continued to fight for his life

Doing his best to heal

After all

He's alive

ALIVE

As shameless as it may be to survive this long as someone who deemed himself unworthy, he still needed to fight in order to appease the guilt

Therefore he couldn't selfishly wish for it to end even if he wanted to

As long as he lives, he'll continue to fight for a future where humans could freely walk at night with no worries

Where no one would suffer the same fate

Even if that night forever leaves a scar, he knew for sure it was his last moment to stand and fight

Her presence alone made every cell in his body scream to run

Just RUN

But he couldn't

He could never

He bottled everything, replacing fear with adrenaline to kill the flesh eating abomination

No amount of fear would ever make him run as he's the water Hashira who pledge to eradicate demons existence

Plus he knew what he's getting himself into

He was ready to die the moment he passed the final selection and lost his friend at the same time so fear was just a little accessory to what his profession offered

Speaking of the demon

Here she was looking at him like a predator, which she was honestly

That innocent looking creature is the very same demon he couldn't kill without the sun

She was indeed a monster

But...

This monster was mysterious

She hadn't eaten him yet

Was she waiting for him to fully heal?

He believed that

Though strangely enough, she has this faint welcoming aura

Other than that he felt nothing

He doesn't know why but he genuinely couldn't feel anything other that that small tiny aura

She's probably using one of her blood demon art

He couldn't trust anything the boy said or anyone involved in this cult

He's positive that he'll become a meal once he recovered

With doubts in his head he continued to stare back at the demon who's unmoving figure beside his left seemingly observing him

This was now a habit

It's frightening how he's so used to it now that it became part of his day to just look at her
