Y/n's POV
Today you and Ava have a family dinner with her family and yours too. Your father was the one to plan this event he wanted to get some quality time with everyone and me and Ava's families get along well. I put on a normal black shirt and jeans with some white converse. Ava wears a white shirt with a beige sweater over it with jeans and her vans. I put on my black coat before I leave. "Baby are you ready?" "Yeah" I say back. "Are you going to be ok when we get there and see your mother?" I sigh at the thought of having to deal with her and say "yeah I'll be fine don't worry about me." I give her a weak smile.
She accepts my answer knowing I don't like talking about my mother and she starts the car while I start to listen to my music. I always worry when I have to face my mother. My mother left me and my dad when I was about 6 years old. Those 6 years where hell because of her. My mom was very manipulative to me and my father. She got caught cheating on my dad and she manipulated him into staying with her. When I disagreements with her she guilt tripped me.
Luckily I had my siblings to help me through it. When I was younger my parents would always argue when I would sometimes ask why my mom would scold me for being nosy or say that it was because of me even though it wasn't. My dad was an amazing father. He was supportive and caring over me and my siblings. He tried his best for all of us and felt bad that we had a mother that acted terrible to us. My mother was verbally abusive and sometimes threatened to physically abuse me too.
Anyways I have 3 siblings a younger sister named Emma and 2 older brothers named Henry and Liam. Henry is 24 and Liam is 22. My little sister Emma is 17 she's graduating high school soon. Me and my siblings are all close but I feel very protective of Emma. She didn't go through as much as me and my brother did but she did get yelled at and blamed for a bit when she was a little.
I tried my best to defend her which got me into trouble by my mother. They divorced and me and my siblings all choose to stay with my father we did struggle a bit financially and we saw our father less because of it but we still had a good relationship with him. My brother Liam is a teacher at a elementary school and Henry is a therapist. Henry has a wife, Cora she's like the big sister I never had. She's a year younger than Henry and is very kind toward me and the rest of the family.
I think about how this dinner will go with my mother being apart of it. Knowing her she'll end up ruining the whole thing. I get pulled out of my thoughts when the car stops and my girlfriend taps me on the shoulder to say "we're here." She gives me a warm smile in an effort to make me more calm about the situation since she knows about me and my mothers relationship.

Tomorrow or Thursday will be the dinner because I have a state test coming up and I don't know if I'll be able to find the time to make another chapter tomorrow. Anyways I hope you all are doing well today, my lovely's <3
