Max paced around Maddie's room; her hands were clenched into fists. Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar filled the room.
" I don't get it - I just don't get it" she muttered, frustrated
Madison sat on the edge of the bed, watching her pace back and forth.
"Don't get what?" Madison asked, trying to meet her gaze as she stopped by the dresser
" Them. They act like they want to be my friend, but they treat me like garbage. Sharing secrets like we're still in second grade. But they told El everything." Max said, a bit hurt inside
Madison furrowed her eyebrows and tilted her head to the side. "El? Who's El?"
"I don't know, some girl in their party. Honestly, I don't care. "Max responded, rolling her eyes.
She landed on her older sister's bed, face flat. Madison picks up the phone and dials a number.
"Hey, it's Nancy, please leave a message"
Max watched Madison slam the phone and grab her bag, this caught her off guard, and Max furrowed her eyebrows confused.
"Where are you going?"
Madison adjusted the bag on her shoulder, looking at her room one last time.
"I'm going to the Wheelers so if Billy or Neil asks, just tell them that."
Madison opened her window- looking back at Max for a second
"Oh, and one more thing, can you close my window?"
Madison took a deep breath before hopping out the window. She looked around making sure the coast was clear. The cold November breeze hits her face, causing her to shiver. Her mind is racing- racing for answers.
"God let's just hope they don't find out"

Dustin sighed with relief; his shoulders relaxed
as he saw Madison walking. "Perfect, I could use someone right now,"She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. Madison looked at him confused yet a bit upset
"Oh, so you need my help after you and your friends have been leaving my sister out."
"Ok, I'm sorry, it's just that," Dustin gets cut off.
"Maddie?"
She turned around just to find Steve there with roses in his hands. He must be here for Nancy, things ended roughly between them.
"Steve?"
Dustin walked towards him; Madison just stood there confused.
"Are those for Mister or Misses Wheeler"
Steve just shook his head. "No,"
Madison's eyes widened as she watched Dustin snatch the flowers away from Steve. She tried to grab it out of his hand "Dude, give them back.".
"Yeah, give me my flowers back," Steve said annoyed
"Nancy isn't home," Dustin announced
Madison lowered her head, frustrated
"Oh, no wonder"
"Well, where is she?" Steve asked, urgently
Dustin opened the back seat of his car.
"Doesn't matter. We have bigger problems than trying to fix your love life. Do you still have that bat?"
"Bat?'' What bat?'' Steve questioned, with furrowed eyebrows
Madison's eyes widened in complete surprise. " You have a bat?"
Dustin waved his hands sarcastically. "The one with the nails."
"With nails!" Madison repeated, with raised eyebrows
"Why?" Steve asked
"I'll explain on the way," Dustin replied, with urgency
"Now?" The two teens asked.
"Now!" Dustin urged on
The three entered the car.
"Maddie, what I'm about to tell you, will sound crazy," Dustin assured.
"This is so stupid," Madison crossed her arms, as she leaned in the passenger seat.
"Do you accept the risk?" Dustin asked slowly, his tone turning serious
"Yeah, sure, fine, I accept the risk,"
———————————————————————————
As Dustin finished explaining, Madison was the first to speak up " Wow"
" I know it sounds crazy," Dustin said,
"Yeah, sounds nuts, you should become an author," Madison said sarcastically, rolling her eyes in the process.
"What- you don't believe me?" Dustin asked, defensively
Madison scoffed and shook her head "Do you think I'm that stupid? Demogorgon's, Girl with powers."
" I told you..."
"Yeah- Yeah- Yeah, I finally know the truth, now let my sister in your party. " Madison exclaimed, frustrated.
" She can't know... no one can... or else we all die." Dustin's voice dropped to a whisper; his voice sounded urgent
Steve could hear a scoff from her, the tension in the car was thick.
"Hey, how about this, I'll take you home and I'll handle it."
" I'm already here, let's get this over with, "Madison said, impatiently
Steve just let out a sigh and drove off. Madison didn't 100% believe him, she needed to see it to believe it. Little does she know, what danger she just put herself in
A/N: This is the shortest chapter I've written so far, because I wasn't sure how to include Madison, without her being out of place.
