Elliot's POV

... Wow. They really hit it on the nose with the ghost thing, huh.

"... maybe," Ray said after a moment of thinking. "If demons are real, why can't ghosts?"

"It would also explain why they're here despite not physically being here," Norman added on. Ray hummed.

"Also explains how they can talk to us through a pendulum, no matter how time consuming it is."

"Can we buy ghost communicators?" Norman asked out of the blue. I blinked. Well, there are things like that. But they weren't exactly cheap if they wanted quality ones. How would they get the money? From what I've seen, these kids aren't living it up despite having the capabilities to do so.

"There's this thing called a spirit box. This would give us the clearest communication with them."

"Or the worst headache imaginable," Norman retorted. The two of them laid back onto Norman's bed side-by-side.

"Well, that's a plan. How much is it?" Norman asked.

"If we want one that's good quality? Then about $200 if we want to count for tax, shipping, and handling."

"Can we even work at 14?"

"Don't think so. Not many places would imagine hiring, especially when it comes to orphans."

"Then should we start our own business?" Ray looked over at Norman.

"It's the best case scenario, We'll be our own boss, the other kids from Grace Field and the other farms can work in our business. With our brains we could do this." I nodded my head. I totally see where he's getting at.

"Sounds good, but we need connections."

"Are there any events with possible investors or their kids attending?" Ray sat back up and looked it up.

"Not any time soon. The closest one isn't until three months later. Even then, it's a small company and you already need to be somewhat established in the business field to even get an invitation."

"Then let's start." Norman sat up and rolled off of the bed. I followed them out the door.

As we approached the adult's rooms, especially Mike's, I was sure we'd pop in and tell him the plan. But instead these two kept walking. We walked all the way until I was back in front of Emma's room.

"Emma, stop moping, we have a plan," Ray announced, barging into her room once again. Emma yelped, sighing out in relief once she saw it was Ray and Norman.

"It's just you..."

"We have a plan," Norman announced. Emma instantly turned serious and I was surprised, yet again, by their abilities to just flip that switch on. They reiterated their plan to Emma, but in more detail than they discussed with one another before. It felt that they were just improvising on the spot. Yet somehow they were all on the same page as soon as one of them brought an idea up, as if they knew exactly what each other were thinking like some telepaths.

"Then we should go back to school," Emma said. Ray grimaced.

"Emma's right, Ray," Norman tried consoling. Please go to school. I need my ghostly alone time as the only non-living being in this mansion sometimes.

"There's this school I've had my eye on," Emma explained, showing the homepage of a school.

"I see," Norman, Ray, and I all said at the same time.

"But it's one of the best schools there is," Ray stated the obvious.

"And I don't even know if they'll even accept new students in the middle for the school year," Norman continued. Emma frowned, shooting the two Debby Downers a glare.

"We won't know until we try!"

I rolled my eyes. I bet they'd get in easy.

Their minds seemed to be made up and the three of them walked out of the room and down to the main office where Mike Ratri was usually cooped up in. They stared at it before looking at each other.

"This feels harder than it should be," Emma whispered. The other two nodded. What's so hard about this? Just go in and ask whatever it is you need to. Unless...

ARE THEY SERIOUSLY ASKING FOR HIM TO USE HIS CONNECTIONS?!

"I can't with these kids," I mumbled, running a hand through my hair.

"It can't be harder than escaping from demons," Ray denied.

"Or even Grace Field," Norman added.

Okay, what's going on with these kids and their past? At this point I'm inclined to believe that somehow, some way, they actually outran and outsmarted demons and that their orphanage wasn't all that it seemed.

"Let's go."

A/N: I never would have thought that they'd be going back to school. Their school arc was supposed to end TTMTT I can't believe this... Well, it's understandable at the very least? I hope???? BUT ELLIOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT WHY??????? Why can't you believe demons exist when you, a GHOST, exists?!?!??!! I can't evennnnnnnnnn. But at least the three made up in some way UWU I think their bond is so tight that they don't need to apologize to get started on their shared goal. They'll apologize to each other, but later, not now. They're wayyy too focused on their plan and their findings. Okay, bye for now XDXDXD
