"That's it! I can't take it anymore! This just can't be!" Jimin nearly jumped from the cushioned seat he'd been sitting on in Jungkook's office for the past three hours.
It has been nearly half a day since Taehyung's disappearance, morning had risen amongst the horizon hours ago, the day seemingly reflecting the hearts of those who were experiencing a hurricane of chaos in their chests. The skies were covered in a misty grey, the sun barely seeping occasionally through curtains of clouds heavy with unfallen tears.
Jimin was one short fuse away from exploding right then and there in that fancy modern century office that despite being spacious enough to fit a whole marching band, felt oh-so suffocating at the moment, the air dense with a mixture of dread and anticipation. Every second that passed by without news of Taehyung's whereabouts was another second spent expecting him to burst through those tinted glass doors, safe and sound.
"Jimin, love, please—" Yoongi reached out from where he'd been seated next to the younger omega, his hand being mercilessly swatted away.
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down, Yoongi, cause heavens knows I'm about to crumble my way to finding my soulmate, even if it's the last thing I do." His voice had reached a higher note, it shook with grief and despair the longer he was away and ignorant to Taehyung's whereabouts.
Yoongi hadn't taken it personally, not really. He understood perfectly fine what his lover was going through and he wasn't allowing an outlash of uncontrolled emotions affect him. Quite the contrary actually, he stood up, pressing a firm hand to Jimin's shoulder, soothingly slipping it down to the curvature of his shoulder blade before moving back up slowly to squeeze at his shoulder.
"I wasn't, love. You have all the right to be and feel the way you are right now. Believe me when I tell you we are doing everything in our power to locate Taehyung and bring him back safely. Jungkook's resources are infallible and even if you don't trust him, you must trust me. I know. He's going to be alright."
A shaky breath left Jimin's lips, his hand slowly coming to rest where Yoongi's was still pressed firmly around his shoulder as he gave it a squeeze of his own. Oh, how he wished he could believe him. He so desperately wanted to believe him. If something where to happen to Taehyung, anything at all— he wasn't sure what it would be of him. He can't even imagine a world without his best friend in it, ever.
Their attention had been robbed in an instant once the doors to the office swung open and both Namjoon and Seokjin walked though them, pace faster than what could be considered casual. The faint sound of a chair creaking was heard from their backs and everyone turned to look at Jungkook, who had been entranced in his computer ever since the previous night. The poor man had been going through hours of different security footage in an attempt to find where the car that had essentially taken Taehyung away had gone to.
"Hyung! Any news?" It was odd to hear Jungkook address Namjoon so casually so easily, especially in the office. He'd always had a soft spot for Namjoon, a sort of starstruck admiration towards the elder and deep respect for him, however, that didn't take away the fact hay he was still his boss and even if it was only during working hours in public, Jungkook had been wary of status, something that had been advised by Namjoon personally.
"Yes and no." He'd come to a stop with Seokjin following right into step, surrounded now by the others in the office.
"Please, this isn't the time for one of your riddles, hyung. Taehyung—"
"Let me get this straight, I'm not playing games here. Taehyung is still my beloved cousin above everything else and we're taking this just as seriously as you are all." Namjoon's voice was stern, an edge that cut sharp through the silence that had slowly risen amongst them and a tone no one really ever wanted to hear coming from him.
