Oblivious (Hailee Steinfeld/Reader/Elizabeth Olsen)

Part 20

Y/N and Robbie drove as fast as they could to the hospital. As soon as Robbie parked the car, the two ran towards the emergency room. Y/N froze at the sight of Hailee.

"Y/N?" She whispered as Y/N shook their head no.

"Where's my wife?" They asked her.

"She's in the delivery suite with Scarlett." Hailee pointed towards the direction of the room. Y/N walked as fast as they could with Robbie on their heels. Entering a room where they heard Lizzie's pleading voice.

"Y/N!" Lizzie exclaimed as soon as they walked inside. "Robbie?" Lizzie was confused by her ex husband's attendance.

"I uh." He stuttered as he tried to think of something to say.

"He brought some thing around for you and he stayed and helped me finish building the furniture in the nursery." Y/N told her softly. Knowing that both Lizzie and Robbie didn't finish on bad terms. They came to a mutual understanding that they just didn't work.

"Ok." Lizzie said before she gasped before breathing through a contraction.

"What should I do?" Y/N asked her as they held her hand. Ignoring the pain as she squeezed it tight.

"Can you give me some water?" Lizzie asked them. Y/N simply done as requested before holding Lizzie's hand. Kissing the top of her head.

"Has the doctor been?" Y/N asked them both.

"Yeah. She is 4cms dilated." Scarlett informed them.

"So how long?" Y/N started to ask.

"WELL Y/N. MY DEARLY BELOVED. THESE THINGS TAKE TIME. A LOT OF TIME AND PAIN, WHICH IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!" Lizzie yelled at them. Both Scarlett and Robbie smirked. "Please make it stop." Lizzie cried as Y/N kissed her head repeatedly.

"We'll go and see if the doctor is ready for you both." Scarlett said as she pointed between Robbie and herself.

"Please don't leave me alone." Y/N hissed at them. "I may be dead when you come back. She will kill me." They whispered as Lizzie glared at them.

"She can hear you." Lizzie spoke sternly. Y/N rolled their eyes as Robbie and Scarlett escaped quickly.

"What is Hailee doing here?" Y/N questioned.

"She wanted to apologise to us both." Lizzie spoke in between breaths. "Make amends I guess. She regrets the way she left things." Y/N just hummed as they thought about it.

"I uh." Y/N started to talk slowly. Thinking of the best way to say it. "I think it may take me some time to forgive her and trust her again."

"I understand that baby, but she seemed genuine." Lizzie told them. "She actually brought us here." Y/N smiled at the new information given by their wife. Maybe they can rebuild their friendship. Maybe not as the same as before but be friends again.

As the hours went on, everyone filled the waiting room. Waiting for the new arrival to come. Everyone was conversing between each other. Jeremy and Hailee had even made amends.

"You are now ready." The doctor told Lizzie. Her face covered in sweat. Her eyes red and puffy from the tears.

"You can do this my love." Y/N whispered as they held her hand. Not caring for the pain since it went numb hours ago.

"I need you to push on the contractions Elizabeth and breathe in between each one." The doctor told her. Lizzie pushed hard for the first time. "She's crowning." The doctor told them as Y/N whispered words of encouragement.

"I can't. I can't." Lizzie cried as she breathed.

"Yes you can Elizabeth." Y/N told her. "You are the strongest person I know. You have got this." Y/N encouraged her. Lizzie pushed again, harder than before.

"We have shoulders." The doctor told them as they could hear the cries of the baby. With just one more push, the baby was here. Y/N was excited to cut the cord before sharing a kiss with a tired Lizzie.

"I am so proud of you Lizzie." They told her as the nurse placed the baby in Lizzie's arms. Y/N took their phone out, snapping a picture of both of them.

"She's beautiful." Lizzie cried as she smiled down at the baby. "Our Little Olivia."

"Olivia Olsen-Renner." Y/N confirmed before kissing Lizzie once more. "Do you want me to get your mum?" Y/N asked her softly.

"Please." Lizzie asked them. They nodded before leaving the room. Heading to the full waiting room. Heading straight for Jarnette.

"Lizzie wants to see you. She wants you to meet your granddaughter." Y/N told her with a smile.

"Really?" Jarnette asked with tears in her eyes.

"Really." Y/N then gave her the room number and the directions. Jarnette not wasting any time at all.

"So?" Jeremy questioned as everyone gathered around Y/N.

"Little Olivia Olsen-Renner." Y/N got the picture up of her. A proud smile on their face. Words of congratulations being spoken from many in the room.

"Y/N." Hailee tried as Scarlett stole Y/N's phone.

"I know you're wanting to apologise but I can't forgive you just yet. It will take time to build our friendship back up and I need to know that you are done with those childish games." Y/N told her.

"I am done with them Y/N. I took a long time to reflect on my behaviour in the past as a whole and I miss my friend more than anything." Hailee told them sincerely. Y/N smiled before pulling her in for a hug.

"I accept your apology." Y/N told her as they pulled away. As the day went on. Many visitors. Many congratulations. Leaving just Y/N, Lizzie and Olivia.

"I didn't realise you and Robbie would become friends." Lizzie whispered as Y/N held Olivia in their arms.

"He is a nice guy." Y/N told her. "He never done you wrong, it was simply you both wanted different things."

"Well he knew how I truly felt for you." Lizzie confessed. "That was why we divorced. He didn't want to be a consolation prize so we opted to divorce. Amicably."

"Is it strange for you if he and I are friends?" Y/N asked her. She just smiled and shook her head no.

"I still consider him as one of my closest friends. He's kind of like Paul. Knows everything about me." Lizzie told them as she watched them place her in the cot beside the bed. "Like platonic soulmates."

"Kind of how we used to think of each other." Y/N smiled at the memories.

"Yeah, but you were an oblivious idiot." Lizzie teased them as they nodded in agreement.

"I was." Y/N smiled as they sat at the other side of the bed. Taking her hand in theirs. "But I am happy that I managed to open my eyes and see that the person who I am supposed to spend my life with, was always right in front of me all this time." They smiled at her before kissing her softly. "Now we have the life we always dreamed of."
