   It had been a year.

A year full of white gowns and vows under arches; Kate and Simon, Skylar and Luke, Meagan, and Nick (I never thought that Meagan would cry out of joy in front of me, ever!) Nick seemed like the happiest guy ever when Meagan had said yes to marrying him, which then a week later they were 'on their honeymoon'... which consisted of them camping as far away from the houses as possible while staying on our territory... since neither wanted to deal with going to an airport and all.

Shelby and Coal had, had theirs in private, Coal had been worried about being attacked for helping us with attacking Drake's pack, the year before. Ever since then, we really haven't talked with them, they were still nervous, I mean they'd only been with us for barley a week and they lost so many lives, but what they did, had helped us to prevent more lives lost than we could've in our pack without them.

I mean, they saved my life.

I sat at the kitchen counter with Meagan and my mom... wedding plans, fabric samples, dozens of magazines and business cards covered the kitchen island.

"Blue and silver, those are the colors, right?" my mom asked for the hundredth time that day.

"Yep..." I sighed, staring off out the window at the woods, I was dying to go run... it did not even have to be nice out, I just needed to escape the two wedding planners with me.

"Cause your eyes, totes adorabs!" Nick said mimicking Meagan's voice, poorly, as he entered the kitchen. I looked over at the rusty haired guy as he pulled out two beers from the fridge and opening them with his hand... I never understood how they could do that... it hurt when I have tried.

Nick handed one to Jason, who took it before moving to stand behind me.

"So, how's planning?" he asked looking almost nervous at the covered island.

"We've got the 'Motif'," I said in my imitation of my mother, who gave me a dirty look.

"Hold on, you know what that means? I'm shocked!" Nick fake gasped.

"Jason." I said lowly, as I gave Nick a death glare, suddenly Nick's face went from smug to slight fear, which told me Jason's eyes had turned silver, also because the fridge had two glowing silvery dots reflecting off it which was almost behind Nick.

"Good Alpha." I said patting Jason's head, like a dog.

"Ooh! Can you get him to roll over, and sit, too?" Meagan asked grinning.

"Hell no!" Jason said, with an almost disgusted look on his, I swear, perfect face, I mean, not to sound weird or anything, but he has the most perfect sharp, chiseled jaw and just he looked like some Greek god or something... I felt out of place sometimes next to him, cause he is freaking perfect, and I am the socially awkward girl who is seventeen and making wedding plans!

Suddenly, my mom grinned and shook a wide eyed, confused Nick by the arm, as she jumped up and down excitedly. She right then looked like a nineteen-year-old girl again. It amazed me how young my mother looked, not that she looks old, or is 'old'... in werewolf sense!

"What?" I asked her, confused by her jumping.

"Look! It works! I thought at first it wouldn't, but it did! It's elegant but still simple... like you two!" she smiled.

"I'm not that simple, ok..." I scoffed.

"You are kind of... you're a plain cheese pizza! You never add, it's only cheese with you!" Nick said shaking his head.

"You calling me a pizza?" I asked scowling at him.

"A beautiful cheese pizza.... Don't send Jason after me, please." He said almost scared.

"You're an extra cheesy pizza, Nicky." I smirked, which he stuck his tongue out at me like a two-year-old.

"Did you just call me, Elegant?... that's more of a girly word." Jason said suddenly, sounding like a sad little kid.

I glanced from him to the others, almost confused.... And a bit uncomfortable, with his sudden personality change... I WAS THE CHILDISH ONE! Not him!

Nick, OF COURSE, being Nick, did his Nick thing.

"It's ok boss... you'll still have my respect, even as a girly man." Nick joked, which in response, Jason pinned him against the wall, like in cop shows, arms pulled back while the head in against the wall, and Jason looking as smug as ever while Nick screamed like a little girl, 'uncle' at the top of his lungs.

And I would soon be family to the pinned weirdo... by law.
