I creak open the Daycare giant doors and squint through the darkness. I don't use my flashlight because I don't want to draw any unwanted attention.
I blink rapidly, trying to get my eyes to adjust. While doing so, I shut the door behind me with a light thud.

"Now... I wait." I sighed, slumping my shoulders. I haven't rested since I left that dang supply closet.

I lift my backpack higher on my shoulder and strode to the security desk. I can hide there until Moon comes back.
Placing my bag under the desk, I slide beneath and lay flat on my back.
I blew a strand of hair off my face as I relax my tired muscles.
Closing my eyes, I finally get into a comfortable slumper, the humming of the computers were the only sounds that remained in my ears.

~~~
I heard a small wired 'clink', which jolted me awake.
I poke my head out and see two glowing beams through the darkness.
"This Daycare is a mess." A soft voice grumbles.
I don't think twice of who it's from. I don't need to.
"Moon?" I called out, puzzled why it came out like a question. I knew who those two ruby eyes belonged to.
Speaking of which, from the sound of my voice, those exact eyes turned towards me. I heard footsteps coming towards me until Moon came into view, which caused them to silence in shock.
"Y/N?" Moon stumbled, his head tilted to one side. This caused his bell from his hat to jiggle with surprise.
I couldn't help myself. I sobbed, running out from behind the desk.
I gripped onto his starry pants, tears flowing down. Two pairs of metal hands were placed on my back, rubbing ever so slowly.
"It's okay Starbeam.." Moon whispered, placing his robotic head on mine, "You're safe now."
Safe... a word I never thought I would hear again.
~~~
I woke up in a bundle of blankets.
The Daycare's lights were on and I could hear it's theme song playing in the background.

I sat up and rubbed my sore eyes. My face was wet with recent tears and I hurriedly tried to wipe them away.
While doing so, two hands picked me up and spun me around.

"SUNSHINE!" Sun screamed in my ears. He lifted me up high in the air and then lowered me back down, bringing me into a tight hug.
"Sun!" I giggled, "Too tight!"
"Oopsie!" He laughed back, placing my tiny legs back on the ground.
He then proceeded to ruffle my already messy hair.
"Sunny!" I swatted.
"Oh Sunshine--we need to get you cleaned up!" Sunny's voice glitched with worry.
I look up at him. "What do you mean?"
He clasped his hands together, the usual hook attaching onto his back.
He flew up into his balcony and stayed there for a few seconds.

Returning back, he had new clothes and a towel, along with a Sun toothbrush and Moon toothpaste.
He handed me the items.
"You go to the bathroom now and get cleaned up." He smiled, pushing me towards the exit, "Quickly, before the kids start piling in!"
I nodded and hurried off, being as quick as I could.

Within a few minutes, I returned back to the Daycare with new clothes, a fresh face, and cleaned teeth.
Sun motioned me over to him and patted in front of him. In his hand was a small brush and colorful hair ties.
"You know how to brush hair?" I asked once I sat down infront of him.
"Yup! Being the Daycare Attendant has it's perks!" He beamed, combing my hair gently, "What style would you like?"
"How many do you know?"
He paused and thought, then continued brushing with a short reply. "Anything that includes hair ties."
I laugh at that response and decide to go with (insert kid-like hairstyle). Sun nodded and within 5 minutes, he was finished and was bringing me to a mirror at the security desk.
"Woah! Thanks Sunny!" I grinned, waving my hair around.
"You're welcome! I'm glad you like it!" Sun smiled, clapping his hands rapidly.
He then glanced at the clock and gasped.
"It's almost opening time!"
He then turned towards me and became serious.
"Sunbeam, promise me you'll stay away from security guards?"
I nodded. Not like I was planning to do that anyways.
Sun smiled and patted my shoulder. He then skipped off, whistling a little tune as he went.

I couldn't help but smile as kids started climbing into Sun's arms. It was good to be back.

Good to be back...
