Ferid is a picture-perfect man, and you can't tell me otherwise—

As of the past week it had become a routine where in the mornings Ferid would come and wake Y/n up from her slumber.

However, Y/n woke up a little earlier this morning. A lot earlier.

Y/n let out a yell as she woke up in a cold sweat, her body slightly shaking. Her breath was jagged, and her heart raced in her chest. Y/n clutched tightly at her silk night shirt, so hard that her knuckled turned ghostly white. Frantically looking around the room, Y/n found there was no one else in the room except for her.

Y/n let out a heavy breath of relief. Her muscles relaxed just a little bit more. The jagged breaths that left Y/n's mouth softened just a bit more.

Y/n leaned backwards, slumping back before laying down once more. She sighed, staring up at the ceiling. She laid there for quite a while until she couldn't hear her heart beating in her ears anymore.

Y/n draped an arm over her face, specifically over her eyes. Her racing mind kept her from hearing the soft creaking of the door opening. Y/n let out yet another breath, but this one was shaky, and threatened to break.

The person who had entered the room unnoticed crept over to the bed where Y/n laid alone in the dark. They leaned over the bed before slowly reaching out to Y/n, lightly gripping the arm Y/n had draped over her face.

Still in a panic of her night troubles, at the feeling of the hand on her arm Y/n flailed and yelped. Her heart returned to over drive and her adrenaline shot through the roof. Her flight or fight mode kicked in, and she squirmed in the other persons hold, trying to hit and kick at them. It didn't do much though against the other person's much stronger hold. Eventually the other person leaned down on the bed for support as they wrapped their arms around Y/n, successfully holding her in a position that had the girl's arms pinned to her sides and she couldn't move. Or fight.

"-Y/n!"

A voice finally made it to her ears. Y/n paused her scuffle, looking up to see who had stopped her through blurry eyes. When noticing red eyes on moonlight hair, Y/n heaved air through her lungs.

"Shh," the person whispered.

Y/n relaxed more at the soothing voice.

"It's alright..." Y/n realized it was Ferid, "You're okay, doll," he cooed.

"F-Ferid?" Y/n asked, her voice cracking.

"I'm here," the vampire softly smiled.

Ferid loosened his grip around Y/n after making sure the girl wouldn't try to fight him again. Y/n in turn, after a few seconds, tightly wrapped her arms around Ferid's neck. She hid her face against the crook of the noble's neck as tears threaten to spill from the brims of her eyes.

"D-" Y/n paused, swallowing a lump in her throat, "D-did I hurt you?"

Ferid softly hummed, "I am a seventh progenitor, dear," he reminded, "I am much stronger than you think... but no, you didn't hurt me."

Y/n didn't answer, she was just relieved she didn't hurt the one person who protected her. She melted even more into the older male's warmth in that moment. She closed her eyes and finally a few tears heedlessly slid down her face. Y/n sniffled, making Ferid begin to rub the girl's back.

A silence fell over them for a little while as Y/n calmed down more. To Y/n, it was a comforting quiet, but a little bit too silent for her liking. She wanted to hear Ferid's voice in this moment. To said man, it was a worrying silence. He didn't know what happened to Y/n, and he didn't like the feeling of not knowing what had happened, but he didn't know if prying at the information would help the situation.

Finally, Ferid decided to break the stillness.

"Are you alright?" He asked, making sure Y/n was physically okay at least.

Y/n lightly nodded in response.

"Can you tell me what happened, my dear?" The progenitor whispered softly into Y/n's ear, making a shiver run up the h/c haired girl's spine.

Y/n hesitated to say what happened, "...Just a bad dream..." she reluctantly told.

"Just a dream?" Ferid pried.

Y/n slightly readjusted herself in Ferid's hold, getting more comfortable. They halfway sat, halfway laid in the bed. Ferid rested on his side, his upper back leaning on the headboard of the bed and a few pillows. Y/n laid down more in the vampire's arms, her face now hidden against Ferid's neck and jaw. She still kept her arms wrapped around the taller male's neck and cuddled up to Ferid's body, stealing his body heat.

Then Y/n realized...

Ferid's hair was down. For the first time in the past almost month, Ferid's hair was down, out of the ponytail it was normally in. It distracted Y/n from her earlier frights. She, as secretly as possible, played with the noble's hair. She would wrap little bits of it around her finger or run several fingers through small bits. Ferid's heightened senses noticed right away, but he couldn't bring his mind to care.

After another little while the silver-haired man spoke up again, "Can you tell me about this bad dream? I promise, it will only be between us."

"M-maybe later..." Y/n mumbled against the vampire's neck.

Ferid hummed, "Alright," he replied, just letting Y/n continue to cool off.

"Lovely," Ferid called out after a few minutes, "Do you want me to stay, or go?"

"Stay... please..." Y/n whispered, her arms tightening their hold just a little bit tighter around his neck.

"Then go back to sleep," Ferid softly spoke, whispering in Y/n's ear, his hand making its way to glide up and under the back of Y/n's shirt, his nails leaving light shivers along the girl's back in their wake as they traced makeshift places against Y/n's soft skin, "It's only one in the morning. I would hate to be up all night."

Y/n hummed quietly. If it were possible, Y/n cuddled up even more to Ferid's chest. She breathed in the noble's scent, starting to drift into sleep once more. Ferid rested his head against Y/n's, slipping down in the bed a little bit more so he and Y/n were laying down.

"I'll see you in the morning, little lamb," that was the last thing Y/n heard before he drifted off into sleep. After maybe 30 minutes, Ferid tried to sleep for a few hours too until the morning.
