Y/n lounged around in the library. She had two stacks of books, only now her 'already read' list was taller than her 'to-be-read' stack. She was pretty happy about that. In the day so far Y/n had already gone through a whole series of ten, three-hundred-page books.

Y/n finished her eleventh book, putting it on top of her already read stack. She stretched and sighed, before looking over at the clock until her eyes focused on it.

It was almost seven o'clock in the evening... Y/n had been in the library for most of the day. She decided she had spent enough time in the library and got up and left to go 'bug' her favorite vampire.

But first she quickly snuck into the kitchen to grab a bread roll from right under the chef's nose before she took the long way to Ferid's study.

After about five minutes Y/n made it to the large door that led into the noble's study. She knocked once. No answer. She knocked again. Nope.

Y/n risked a peek inside Ferid's office. It was decently dim, and there was no one inside. The girl leaned back, a frown on her face.

'Maybe he's in his room...' Y/n thought, humming to herself as she closed the door and began her trek to Ferid's chambers upstairs. She took the back spiral staircase. It was closer, and quicker to go up, and risked a lot less social interaction.

After a few minutes Y/n made it to the silver haired male's room. She knocked on the door. Yet again no answer.

"Huh..." Y/n said out loud, confused.

Y/n stood around for a little while before remembering that Ferid had once told Y/n he liked the garden in the back of the manor. Y/n made her way to the dark, cold, green garden outside hidden behind the mansion.

Y/n huffed a sigh as she looked at the size of the garden, before beginning to search around the large area in the dusk of night.

It took a whole thirty minutes to decently check the garden, and the progenitor was nowhere to be found, slightly upsetting Y/n. The h/c haired girl went back inside to warm up. She debated asking one of Ferid's workers, but ultimately, she didn't want to cause a fuss.

As Y/n made her way to her bedroom, a vampire, who she had never seen before, looked over at her and pointed directly at her.

"Oh! Is that her?" She had shoulder length bobby purplish blue hair and wore a very... interesting uniform.

Y/n paused in her tracks as she watched another blonde-haired woman round the corner, then a muscular vampire who had cherry and dark chocolate hair that ended in a braid.

Then her knight in shining armor revealed himself from around the corner of the bending hall.

Y/n's mood noticeably improved at the sight of Ferid.

"There you are," said vampire spoke, his tone laced with sarcasm and a playful frown adorned his lips, "And just where have you been?"

"Looking for you," Y/n rubbed the back of her neck in slight embarrassment.

Ferid paused for a second, realizing what had happened before an airy laugh escaped him, "We were looking for you."

Y/n made a noise of acknowledgment before eyeing the three other vampires.

"Ah, yes," Ferid remembered, walking over to stand next to Y/n, his gloved hand found its way to rest on Y/n's lower back, "These are a few people I wanted you to meet, my dear."

Ferid motioned first towards the tall vampire with cherry and chocolate hair, "This is thirteenth progenitor, Crowley Eusford," the vampire, now known as Crowley, gave Y/n a wave and a close eyed smile as Ferid spoke.

Y/n nodded, showing she was listening. She lightly waved to the new vampires in the manor.

Crowley tilted his head to the side, still smiling as he hummed before motioning to the two women at his side, "These two ladies are my aides, seventeenth progenitors Chess and Horn."

"Hi!" The bluish-purple haired woman, Chess, was more than enthusiastic to Y/n as she quickly appeared right in front of the girl, slightly startling her, "Awe! Your so cute! What's your name?"

"Her name is Y/n," Ferid answered for the h/c haired girl.

"I must say, Ferid," Crowley spoke up, "She is quite the catch in terms of humans. How did you find her? Y/n has become quite a topic of gossip ever since you claimed her."

Y/n's eyes widened just a little bit more at that. 'Gossip? About me?' she thought. She couldn't believe it. Why was Y/n such a strong topic amongst vampires? She was just human.

"That's a secret," Ferid said with a smirk as he told Crowley.

"Aww, no fair, lord Ferid!" Chess whined, "I wanted to get myself a human like this one... she's so adorable!"

Y/n backed up just a tiny bit, a little discomfort running through her at how close the female vampire was.

Ferid gave Crowley a look, who in turn, took the hint.

"Chess," Crowley warned nicely.

"Ugh, fine," the short girl crossed her arms over her chest and stepped back to her lord's side.

After giving Chess a slight passive aggressive smile, the red and brown-haired vampire turned back to his 'friend'.

"So Ferid," he started, "Do ya think she is-?"

The silver-haired vampire was quick to cut off the other with his answer, "We don't know yet. Probably, but we're going to confirm soon."

Y/n looked up to Ferid, "What?" She asked softly.

Ferid looked down, giving Y/n his signature close-eyed smile, "Nothing for you to worry about, dear."

Y/n kept her eyes innocently glued to the higher-ranking progenitor as if she were a young child for a little while until her attention turned back to the other three scarlet-eyed beings.

She knew damn well than better to openly second guess vampires. Even if Ferid had been so kind to her, in the back of Y/n's mind, at any given moment he could simply discard Y/n, and no one would ever guess what happened to the girl.

It was a dangerous world, and Y/n's only barrier was Ferid.
