The night lights flickered as I gently peddled my bike. Stars shone brightly above my head hoping to be my guide in the shady world. I looked up to see the sky.
People say the night sky is magnificent and wonderful, but to me, it's the same every day. It's basically millions of planets shining while moving on its orbit. Stars are nothing.
Just like me.
The world is made out of a population of 7 billion, and I am 1 out of 7 billion. What can I do? I'm just like a star. I can't do anything, and I'm nothing special. I'm made out of the same thing as everybody else. My voice cannot reach anywhere. I'm a mere existence to the human race. In the future, nobody will know who I am just like how nobody knows which star is which.

"Henry!" called out a voice from behind. I turned my head and found my one and only friend waving at me. I gave him a shallow smile. "Morning Kevin"
I don't know why he decided to be my friend but... friends mean nothing. I admit I do enjoy his company, but having friends and having none is the same. They won't do anything in the future, and in the worst case, they might just use you and stab you from behind.
Kevin is actually a popular guy He's good looking, sporty, and basically good at everything. That's one reason why I'm extra careful when I'm around him, like why does he even want to be friends with me?
"K, I saw this girl from the grocery store and she was so fucking cute." he exclaimed while putting his left arm on my shoulder casually. "It's a pity she doesn't go to our school, but I deeply believe that fate shall bring us together." he said filled with confidence.
"Good luck with that." I muttered under my breath as the bell rang brightly.
"Chatcha later." Said Kevin while running off. His perfect blond hair swayed along with his movement.
Kevin is the type of guy who can get any girl. He can win her heart by just a single glance. But me... nobody will ever fall for me, even if some random girl did, she is probably doing it to get better grades. Basically while I teach her and help her study shit, she is going to be sleeping with another guy.
That's another reason why I don't need friends.

"You minus the 5 from the x and..." the voice coming from the teacher slowly began to fade. My ears somehow know how to block out unnecessary sounds helping me concentrate on other things. What the teacher is teaching is like grade five math, anybody could understand that. Okay, fine maybe not everybody, but everybody except for Kevin. Kevin's only weakness is school. But school doesn't bring down his popularity at all. He may have failed a couple of courses, but the teachers still love him. How the girls go crazy every time he walks into the classroom basically makes him every body with male instincts his enemy.
I glanced out the window hoping to catch something new and surprising, but it's the same old cherry tree with the pink flowery buds getting ready to bloom in the month of April.
In the dictionary, spring is said to be a new beginning, a season to start fresh, and also a season filled with surprises. I have experienced spring sixteen times so far and nothing has happened nor will ever happen.
Gosh people who write dictionaries are stupid.

"Hurry you are so slow henry." cried a female voice beside my locker. Okay maybe I lied about having only one friend, but at the same time, I don't really see her as my friend, she is more like a sister. We've known each other ever since we were six and she is also my neighbour.
I signed as I stuffed my books in my bag and grabbed my keys.
"I found a new place for sweets." she exclaimed excitedly. "Common! It's the last day of March! Let's go my treat! " she begged while taking out her mint green purse.
"Fine Klein" I muffled.
~~~
She joyfully walked along the side walk while humming the tune we used to listen when we were young. I Followed her just like usual.
She is always leader.
I'm always the follower.
Suddenly, a lively violin tune over powered Klein's soft hum. Her eyes sparkled as she nimbly grabbed onto my sleeve and dragged me toward the music.
"H-hey where are we going?" I asked with a confused tone.
"Shut up and just follow m-"
Before she could finish her sentence, we both saw it.
My eyes widened as the melody became merrier and children's laughter filled the air.
For the first time in my life, spring gave me a surprise.
