Ally's POV-
"What if no one likes me?", I ask as I eats my pancakes. "Don't worry, you'll be fine. Anyways, you're in the 10th grade at a new school. It's a new start.", my mom says as she hands me my backpack. I roll my eyes as I push it on my shoulders and stand up. "Bye mom", I kiss my mom's cheek and run out the door as fast as possible so I don't miss the bus. Jumping onto the bus, I sit in the front to avoid any of the other people.

The bell rings and I'm still struggling with opening my locker. With a sigh, I lean against the locker. "Need any help?", I hear a voice say. I look around for the source of the voice but see nothing. "Who said that? I'm warning you, I know karate.", I say biting my lip. "Do you even really know karate?", says the voice again as a girl about a foot taller than me with piercing green eyes and black hair steps into my range. "No", I respond. Without any words, the girl grabs my combination from me and opens my locker. I begin to mutter a thank you but she just holds her hand out and says "I'm Lauren. Lauren Jauregui." "Nice name and I'm Ally Brooke Hernandez. Nice to meet you", I say shaking her hand. "Anyways, I gotta go and so do you. Class is starting soon."

"If 10=5x, what is x? Ally?". Shit. The teacher picked me. "Umm...", I mutter as I bite my lip. "Umm.. Uh, uh, 2?", I guess. "Well done, Ms. Hernandez". I sigh in relief as I begin doing the problems on the board. "I forgot to say this. Silly me. Anyways, you must work with a partner on a project. This project has absolutely nothing to do with math but it's very important. Everyone listen. Okay so, you and your partner will do a sort of a friendship project. You will learn as much about each other in 2 weeks as you can. You will have time in class and at home." I look at Lauren and she looks at me. We're thinking the same thing: we're gonna be partners. "The only rule is that your partner must be a stranger. You can not have talked to the person.", the teacher says looking at me. Wow, just great. I look over to Lauren and realize she's talking to some girl with a bow in her hair. Everyone is already in groups but I'm over here lonely. I frantically look around the class for a partner when a figure sits beside me. I look up to see an African-American female with flawless skin. "Hi I'm Normani and I see you don't have a partner so I'll be yours." She's straight forward isn't she... "I'm Ally, nice to meet you." We begin talking and getting to know each other.

The bell rings and that can only signal lunch. At my old school, we couldn't sit wherever we wanted but here we can. This is the scary part about high school. I go through the line and look at where I should sit. I instantly begin to panic when a pale hand places itself over my arm and drags me to a table. "Sit", it instructs. I do as it says. I soon realise the hand belongs to Lauren and I soon realise I'm at a table with Lauren, Normani, that bow girl and some girl I haven't met. Lauren probably can see the questioning look on my face so she introduces the girls. She points to the bow girl. "This is Camila. Pronounced CamEEla, spelled Camila." She points to Normani. "This is Normani." She slightly chuckles. "We've met. We're working on a project together in math." Lauren just nods and points to the strange girl. "This is Dinah." I mutter a "nice to meet you" to everyone and just slides the food around my plate as they talk. Talk about awkward. "So Ally", Camila says breaking the silence, "where did you move here from?" I answer quite reluctantly. "I moved here from Texas." Dinah's jaw drops. "You came from Texas all the way to California? Why'd you move?" I once again reluctantly answer. "I actually moved because my dad died in a car wreck and Texas gave me a bad vibe. I wanted a new start." The girls awkwardly look at each other. "I'm so sorry", Lauren says. I just nod. "Anyways, are you girls coming to the karaoke bar tonight? Everybody's going!", Normani announces. All the girls say they're going and soon they all stare at me. "What?", I ask, shoving a spoon of mashed potatoes into my mouth. "Are you coming?", Lauren impatiently asks. I wait a few seconds because nodding. The girls embrace me into a hug right before the bell rings. "Bye, see you later!", everyone says.

I'm sorry that this chapter is super short and lame but I promise the next one will be long and detailed.
