Y/n's POV

I often did this

having pearl put me in her gem so I can avoid social interactions
it often happened enough that she had the Pearl in Pearl's earl build furniture for me in here

Pearl's gem was calming
it was dark, quiet, and gloomy
Given her appearance this makes sense

there was a soft bed for me to nap on while I wait on till we get to the mall
 
The Pearl in Pearl's pearl read me a bedtime story

don't say shit, it helps me sleep

She never did it quite right. A lot of the time she forgot to do the voices, but it was good enough

I was almost asleep when something else entered Pearls pearl

"Oof!" a voice yelled out

I opened my eyes and turned to the noise

it was steven

I stared at him as he walked up and sat on the edge of the bed

"Do you spend a lot of time in here?" he smiled

"Yeah, I usually come here when I don't feel like being bothered"

I pat the space beside me as an invitation to lie down

he accepts it and lays down beside me

We sat in silence until Pearl's Pearl spoke up

"Should I continue reading?"

"R-Reading? Reading what?" I say flustered

I was REALLY hoping she'd get the hint but NOPE

"The bedtime story?"

"AAA, OOHH WOW! HAHA SHUT UP" I say covering her mouth

He chuckles at this "You need a bedtime story to fall asleep?"

"Psh, No" I glared at him

"Awweee, you're like a child" He said, teasing you

I went red in the face

"S-Says the one with a baby face" I say, crossing my arms

"Baby face!? Excuse me but I look like a man" he smirked, crossing his arms

"Yeah, a man baby" I smirk

"Scoff" He put his hands over his heart and pretended to be hurt

I pushed him to the floor laughing

"Ow!"

then we were pulled out of Pearls pearl

We were wondering around the mall
just lightly window-shopping
We bought a few things but that was it

Nothing particularly cool caught my eye

there was nothing fun to steal

I mean there were a few things I thought about taking but, I ultimately decided against it considering the giant narc I'm hanging out with

"Ugghh, this is boring" I whispered to pearl

Steven was walking slightly ahead of us so he couldn't hear

"If I may suggest." Pearl said, pointing over so a rather expensive-looking art piece

It was a large and flashy water fountain

it had what appeared to be a cherub in the middle of it with tears streaming down its face
and it was made of some sort of pretty crystal

I already knew what she meant

I looked back ahead of us

"Tsk, But Steven" I rolled my eyes

"It's unlike you to care what others think" Pearl smirked

I thought on that for a second

and you know what.

She was right

I chuckled as used my powers to build the water pressure and shatter the statue

water shot up from where the cherub once stood and splashed everyone unlucky enough to be standing too close

Shards of crystal went flying, some even hitting people

Pearl and I just laughed at this

Our joy was cut short by Steven dragging us aside

"Why did you do that?!" he whisper yelled, gesturing to the mess I made
