Chapter 6: Telling the Team

Penelope's POV:

I wake up and my hot stuff is still asleep with his arm wrapped around me. It's the day after the happiest night of my life. The man that I love came to me last night and confessed his love for me and I've never been happier. I look at the alarm clock sitting on the table beside my bed and notice that we have about an hour until we have to get up to get ready. I don't want to get up quite yet so I replay the events of the night before in my head.

Last night we ended up sitting on the couch and watching a movie. However, I don't even remember what happened in the movie because we ended up talking and kissing all throughout it. By the time we finished talking it was really late and we both knew that we would have to go to work this morning so we decided to go to bed. We ended up snuggling in my bed until we both fell asleep in each other's arms.

I'm hungry so I sneak out of bed without waking him up and go into the kitchen to make us some breakfast.

Derek's POV:

I wake up to an empty bed. I get up and go in search of Penelope. I walk into the kitchen and see the love of my life standing at the stove cooking. I walk up to her, wrap my arms around her waste, and say "Good morning Princess."

She turns around in my arms, kisses me, and says "Good morning to you too, Hot Stuff. Breakfast is almost ready."

I kiss her on the lips again and help her finish cooking breakfast. We sit down and eat. We talk about anything and everything until it's time to get up and get ready.

While Penelope is taking her shower I decide to go to take my morning run. I leave a note for her and then go outside.

Penelope's POV:

I get out of the shower, get dressed, and do my makeup. Then I walk into the living room looking for Derek. He's not there so I walk all around the house looking for him. I can't find him anywhere and start to worry until I notice a note laying on my bed. I pick it up to read it.

It says "Went for my morning run. Love you Baby Girl. Love, your hot stuff." I smile and put the note down.

While waiting on Derek I decide to lay out one of his outfits for work. I open the drawer on my dresser that has his stuff in it. He has left a couple of his outfits here because he tends to stay over after our movie nights. I lay one of his outfits on my bed and go sit on the couch to watch TV.

Derek comes in and leans over to kiss me on top of my head. I tell him that I laid his outfit on my bed and he goes to take a shower. When he is done getting ready we leave the apartment holding hands and go to get in his SUV.

He opens the passenger side door for me and once I'm in he closes the door and walks around to get into the driver seat. We pull out of my apartment building's parking lot and go on our way to the BAU.

I want to tell the team about us dating now, but I'm nervous that Derek won't want to. He told me that he loves me, but face it. I'm not his usual type of woman. I don't want to ask this question, but I feel like I have to.

"Hot Stuff, umm... I-I was wandering if you mind if we umm... tell the team about us?"

"Baby, I'm in love with you, of course I don't mind. We'll tell them first thing. As soon as everyone is sitting in the round table room" he says as he looks at me lovingly. Relief washes through me and I lean over and kiss his cheek.

We pull up at the BAU and walk in holding hands. We walk into the round table room and make our big announcement.

JJ and Emily both said "I knew it would happen." as they got up and hugged me. Hotch said "Finally!" and gave us his little smirk that is rarely seen. Reid just shakes Derek's hand and gives us both his congratulations with a huge smile on his face.

We all agree to go for celebratory drinks after work and I proceed to present the case.
