MAYBE it was a mistake to work here, after all. Too bad it was too late to quit now.

Sometimes, you were really too nice for your own good, and it often put you into bad situations. Sort of like this current predicament.

It all started as a regular work day. You got up from bed, arrived at work exactly 5 minutes early, and then prepared to work through the first few hours of your shift. That is, until one of your fellow employees went up to you that morning.

"Hey, Y/N! I gotta ask you something!" He begged, trying his best to imitate puppy dog eyes. "I'm really really really busy tonight, do you think you can cover the last hour of my shift for me? Please?"

You remembered thinking it over for a few seconds. His shift would add two extra hours to work, wouldn't it? That was a lot of time before you could finally get home and rest. But, still, He was sorta your friend, and friends helped each other out with these sorts of things, right?

"...Alright. Yeah, I can cover for you..." you agreed.

Your coworker brightened up. "Really? Thanks, you're the best!" He said, then ran off.

Now, that wouldn't have been such an issue, if another worker from the salad bar hadn't approached you that afternoon as well.

"Hey Y/N! Heard you were covering for David, mind doing me a favor and help me cover some of my tasks as well?" She asked.

Truth be told, you didn't know her very well. You've merely glanced at each other a few times, maybe exchanged two sentences during one of your lunch breaks, but you never really got to know her. Nor did it seem like she wanted to know you, either.

She seemed to notice your hesitation. "Promise I'll pay you back?" She offered.

You were hesitant for a second, before the growing voice of your annoying conscience emerged. If you accepted to cover for your other coworker, why should you reject her? That wasn't fair. Plus, she promised to pay you back...

"...alright. I can help you, I guess..." you answered.

Why can't they just work their own shifts, though? Why does it have to be you? Apart of you grew irritated.

The louder thoughts in your mind silenced it quickly.

They might need it. They could have a lot going on, you never know. No need to be insensitive. No need to be whiny, you thought.

Just power through it. You can do it.

Besides, surely they would do the same for you, right..?

Then, around the end of your own shift, another one of your coworkers had gone up to you as well. She had mentioned she heard you were covering for two people already, and asked if you could assist her as well.

She was the sweetest one out of your coworkers. She was always punctual and never seemed to possess any bad intentions. Which was why you were so mad at yourself for feeling a slight annoyance at her request.

It wasn't all aimed at the poor girl, though. It was just that her shift ended near closing time, which was when everyone would leave and those robots would come out. Or so you've heard.
