02 : elevator ride

The morning air makes Jaeyun feel a little bit colder this morning. Suddenly, he woke up early and getting ready to office excitedly. Maybe because of Hyejin, he can't wait to see that beautiful face.

And, maybe universe really want to give him a chance. The moment he stepped into the elevator his eyes met with a familiar eyes. It's Hyejin, sipping her hot coffee. A bright smile immediately form on his face.

"Good morning!"

"Good morning, Mr Jake." she bowed.

The elevator door was closed yet two of them still didn't say anything. Actually, Hyejin still feel awkward to act normal around Jaeyun but she tried to hide it from the male. So, she continues sipping her coffee.

"You are early today?" he asked.

"Yes, I need to discuss something with Jihoon this morning. About the new project, he said a few from us will visit the hotel site." she said while staying at her place.

"Oh, yes. I forgot to tell you yesterday. Only six employees will visit the site and maybe we need to stay there for a night. I will joining the visit too and you are the first person I put into the list." he said with a playful smile.

Hyejin already knew it, Jaeyun will always find ways to be close with her and she's not surprised anymore. Gladly, Jungwon is on the list so she has at least one person that she comfortable with.

The elevator stopped and the door was opened. A few people walked inside the elevator and Jaeyun stepped back to give them space. Hyejin still chilling at her spot, sipping her coffee and suddenly she could feel a warm arm around her waist.

She took a glance at Jaeyun and the young man just act like nothing happened. Instead, his warm palm slowly stroking her back and quickly put it down when the elevator door opened again.

Those people walked out, leaving these two inside the elevator. Right after the door was closed Jaeyun let out his laugh and Hyejin slightly pouted looking at Jaeyun's happy face.

"Oh my, you look so cute just now. Panicked, aren't we?" the sound of Jaeyun's laugh fills the elevator.

God, help me.

Before I choke this man.

"Having fun, Mr Jake?" she asked, kinda mad with Jaeyun.

"Yes! Yes, I am!" he replied.

Hyejin groaned and right on time the elevator door opened. She quickly stepped out, leaving the golden retriever boy inside the elevator. Jaeyun tried to control his face expression and went to his office.

Jaeyun took a quick glance at Hyejin and seems like his woman is having her hard time gaining her sanity, trying to control herself from enjoying the warm sensation from Jaeyun's hand.

Gosh, she's cute.

Slowly, I will, darling.

Times passes by, everyone doing their job and when the recess time Hyejin quickly keep her stuffs, clean her table because 30 minute ago Jongseong texted her and wants her to join the lunch. Of course she can't say no to her friend.

She's texting her friends while waiting for the elevator, not realising someone is stood right behind her. She's too focused with Jongseong in the text.

After the elevator door opened, Hyejin walked into it and finally realised that she's not alone. Head up and there he is, looking at Hyejin coldly and stood next to the opposite wall.

Hyejin cleared her throat, "going out for lunch, Mr Jake?"

"Yes, my stomach asked for food. How about you?" he replied and Hyejin pursed her lips due to his cold reaction.

"I'm hungry too and I'm having lunch with my best friends. Are you eating your lunch with your friends too?" she asked to make the situation less awkward.

Jaeyun nodded. Hyejin sighed, she don't know why the elevator move so slow now. She look at Jaeyun with a lot of questions inside her head but her mind prevent to do it and keep silence.

What the hell with the sudden mood change?

This morning he acted friendly and now he act cold to me?

Dang, men's problem.

Finally, the elevator door opened and Jaeyun quickly walked away. Faster and lighter. Hyejin confusedly look at the man's shoulder still questioning his sudden mood change.

But then, Jongseong call her and she pick it up.

"Yo, Jongseong?"

"I will be there in 15 minutes."

"See ya!"
