The dragon riding takes some getting use to but it isn't that bad. The worst part is being a thousand miles under the surface with a stranger I just met. It is awkward. The glances every few minutes then the quick look away. I was guessing Jasper hadn't met another person in a long while. On the other hand I hadn't either. Even if we were the last ones left didn't mean anything! Anything! Nothing was happening nor would it. I know in apocalyptic events people like to hook up. Not happening. Besides with what just happened to me I wasn't sure I need another half. I mean Jasper is nice and all but....
"Will you shut up all ready"
The dragon retorted at me.
"I wasn't..."
"Dragons read minds"
"A blessing and a curse. You humans don't even know half of what we, dragons, have to deal with."
Ok... That was new. What. So she heard all that about Jasper.
"Yes"
Ariel replies barley moving a muscle. Swimming faster. There was a flicker of lights. Tons of them.
"What was that?"
"The city"
Jasper answers as if I was suppose to know.
"At the bottom of the ocean."
"Welcome Emma to Atlantis "
"Atlantis....thee Atlantis?"
Roing his eyes. He had a habit of that. As we approached closer the lights were thousands of people. Real people glowing with a blue and white tint. Ariel stops before entering the bubble.
"Here put this on."
As Jasper hands me a crystal with old rope going through the top. The crystal on the other hand was the most beautiful jewel I had ever seen. Besides the fact I didn't see jewels often. Jasper put on a matching one. Ariel then shot us off her back into the bubble surrounding the city. As soon as we made contact with the bubble the people dancing and being joyful with their enchanting glow disappeared revealing the real ruins of the city. What was I honestly expecting?
"You never answered me why we are here."
"I'm getting you to Ergon where survivors are."
"Then why not take the dragon there?"
"This is a....errand."
Oh great! He was just dragging me everywhere today! Why me why? I was just along for the ride. I wonder how many girls he did this to.
The water rippled. We weren't moving.
"Hold still. It's here."
"What?"
"Shut up! Do you ever stop asking questions?"
Around the corner one of the figures that were dancing walked by. A girl. Young. But so beautiful. She looked our way. Her eyes bright blue the light pouring out. Her eyes turned normal. Looking straight at as ran the opposite direction. The chase began. Me and Jasper on her tail. When Jasper turned the opposite way seeing a glance of another. But I had my eye on the prize the real one. I would show off. But when she stopped. I was struck with fear. I hadn't thought this far ahead. Heck I hadn't even thought of getting up.
