3rd person
It had been two years since Horde Prime had been defeated and Etheria had slowly become quieter, for everyone except one person.
Adora made her way through the woods, being as silent as she could. There were no enemies to hide from, but old habits die hard.
At last, she made it to the ruins. The building towered above her, crumbling and dark. The place had been doing that since She-ra had no longer been appearing.
Adora knew that she needed to let go of her previous identity and feel content with a simple life at the palace, but part of her kept going back to the place it all started. Everyone seemed happy not having to worry about attacks and feeling safe when they went to bed at night but without the purpose of protecting the land and its people, Adora felt lost, confused, and most of all, unwanted.
The sound of something or someone dropping out of a tree snapped Adora out of her thoughts and she swiveled around, instinct telling her to reach for her sword, which she didn't have. Her fist went to collide with the opponents face but was caught, Catra gripped her hands, raising an eyebrow, "woah there Adora, didn't mean to spook you," she grinned.
Adora blinked trying to process what had just happened, "Oh, sorry Catra," she mumbled, pulling away, suddenly aware of her surroundings, embarrassment setting in.
The other frowned, "What's wrong?"
The blonde shrugged, forcing a smile, "Nothing love, I just needed some fresh air."
"You are a horrible liar," Catra replied, concern in her eyes, "And don't think I haven't noticed where we are."
Sighing, Adora confessed, "I've been coming here a lot since ya know, the whole Horde Prime deal ended," She looked away from Catra, refusing to make eye contact, "I just feel like theres part of me missing now that i'm not She-ra, she was a huge part of me and I feel forgotten now that she's gone. It's stupid, forget I said anything. We should get back to the castle before someone notices us missing."
"It's not stupid and trust me, no ones going to notice us missing, I promise," Catra smiled reassuringly, "can I hug you?"
The taller one nodded and the two hugged, Adora melting into the affection suddenly feeling better. When they pulled away, the brunette linked arms with the blonde and they made their way back to the castle.
The guards hardly looked at the duo as they passed, unfazed despite how late it was. Catra pulled Adora into their shared room, "I'm exhausted, promise you won't leave again?"
Adora chuckled, "I suppose I can afford to stay in one place the rest of the night," she knelt down, kissing Catra on the lips before crawling next to her.
"I love you, Adora," Catra whispered.
"Love you too, Catra," Adora whispered back.
