Y/N's POV

I've been very busy so me and Hailee just talked over the phone. Exams were all the way so I didn't have time to go out with her and Hailee understood. We've been more than friends but we never said "i love you" to each other. One friday night I had a free time I decided to take Hailee out but my friends Len, Grey, Lauren, Francie and Jordan kept begging me to hang out with them to have a great time. So I said yes since I never really had time to hang out with them since I was very busy.

"So where are we going guys?" I asked them.

"I'm thinking of going to a bar or something. You know. " Jordan answered.

We entered this crowded club. Wasted people were everywhere, smoking and drinking. I saw women dancing on the table and swaying their naked bodies around a pole and some were on the stage. I already knew where we were.

"Come on, seriously guys? A stripper club? No, I'm leaving." I said but Lauren grabbed me and put her arm around my shoulder.

"Oh don't be such a wuss Y/N. Time for you to loosen up. Forget about books just for tonight and let's just enjoy. Okay?" Lauren said.

I agreed. She's right maybe it's time for me to enjoy just tonight. We 're not minors anymore so it would be okay.

We all grabbed some drinks and just laughed at our jokes.

An hour later, the loud music was replaced by a saxophone music. The people started wooing. Later on, the curtain on the stage opened revealing 3 women. I watched them as they started dancing and people were going crazy. Theire eyes were glued on the strippers' glistening bodies.
I noticed one brunette women who looked like Hailee. But of course, I wasn't that close to the stage so I could barely see her face. What was I thinking, it couldn't be her, maybe she just looked like her. People started screaming their names and I heard the name Emily. That name sounded familiar to me.

"Emily?" I asked myself.

"What? You're saying?" Jordan asked me.

"Nothing, I just heard that name before." I answered and we went back to watch them.

"That's not their real name. They just use those names for their job." Jordan said.

I remember when Hailee was once mistaken by a guy and called her Emily. I started to overthink, I also remember when Hailee always refused my offer of picking her up from her work at the diner. Now, I had a feeling that something was up.

"Excuse me guys, I'll be right back." I said and slowly walked to the girl who looked like Hailee that was dancing on the stage.

As I was walking closer to the stage to have a look up on her full face, the girl who looked like Hailee stopped dancing when her eyes landed on me. She stopped and looked shocked as we made contact. My heart was beating so fast , it was indeed her. Hailee was Emily. My tears started to fall. Hailee was a stripper.
People started to shout and whistle to Hailee so she could continue to dance. I stepped back and turned around. I went back to my friends.

"Hey, what was that?" Lauren asked.

"Oh, I just saw someone I didn't expect to be here." I told them.

"Are you alright? We can go home if you want." Grey offered.

"No, I'm fine. I just need some air. You guys enjoy the rest of the night." I said then walked out of the club.

I walked so fast without even thinking of directions. All I wanted was to leave that hell of a place. Seeing Hailee on that stage was disappointing. She lied to me and that really crushed me.

I went to the Central park and look for an empty spot. I sat down the grass and just stared at the night sky.

"So now you knew." I heard and I knew who that voice belonged to. I turned around and see Hailee standing 3 meters behind me. I stood up and faced her.

"How did you know that I'm here?" I asked.

" I followed you. After you saw me and left the building, I ran out to follow you." Hailee answered and I shrugged.

"Okay, now we're here. What's up?" I said with rude tone and crossed my arms.

"I'm sorry Y/N. I didn't tell you this." Hailee said.

"So Emily huh, I can't believe I went out with a stripper." I said.

Hailee's POV

My heart sank of what Y/N said to me.

"Okay, I think I deserve that." I said.

"I wanted to tell you but I didn't know how. I was scared Y/N. I was scared that you won't accept me because I'm just this and you being a medical student. I wanted to tell you everything, believe me but I was so scared." I started to explain.

"That's a lame excuse Hailee. Just drop it okay." Y/N said rudely and turned her back.

"I like you." I blurted out.

"There, I said it. Because I like you Y/N. " I said and my voice started to crack.

"I hid it , because I like being with you. I feel like I'm somehow important when I'm with you. The way you made me laugh and you respect me so much. Most importantly, I love the way you looked at me. Because honestly, people look down on me because of my job and you don't. Well you don't because you didn't know right. Since now you know, I guess you'll do the same like others do. " I said and wiped my tears.

"I understand if you'll be disgusted with me. I didn't intend to hurt you, I  lied and hid it because you're important to me, I didn't want to loose you. Because honestly, I love you. I'm really sorry Y/N and I hope you'll understand." I said . I turned around and slowly walked away.
