Name: Aurelio 'Elio' Corvi
Age: 16/17 (depends when I decide things are 'set', really. More likely to be 17, but who knows? Not me!)
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: The more I Google, the less it makes sense, so I'm going by England and Wales census standards because that's the least complicated. He lives in the UK, is white so he's under that category, but I don't really know if he'd be considered White British (I guess specifically White English, since that's where he lives) given the fact that his family originally comes from Italy or if that would put him into 'Any other White background'... so in other words, make of that what you will? There's a reason I hate explaining ethnicity -- I don't think I understand how to do it properly.
Physical Attributes: Hazel eyes, slightly reddish brown hair which is pretty long for a boy and has to be clipped back to keep it out of his eyes... I think it'd be olive skin, the best word for it? He's about 173 cm tall, weighs something reasonable (can you tell I don't usually worry about how much characters weigh?) for that height which apparently can range from 57kg to 77kg, but I'm not exactly an expert. Probably leans closer to 57kg. Wears a lot of black and grey, dark colours almost as a rule, generally just variations of jeans and jumpers because England is England and the weather is rarely good for much else.
Education: Currently a fairly average sixth-former (between 16-18, generally), pretty much refuses to train his magic, or even acknowledge its existence.
Personality: It's hard to tell what he's like, given the consistency in his inconsistencies -- he's quiet and anxious and would rather have his head in a book than help fix the Supernatural Crisis of the Week (SCW for short), and yet when he gets involved with the SCW it's like he's in his element, confident and bold and a heck of a lot louder. What's definitely true is that he worries almost excessively about how people perceive him, so he convinces himself that playing invisible when it suits him makes the most sense and standing out when the people who know him can see also makes the most sense. He's either entirely uninteresting or fiercely interesting, basically. Does enjoy reading and considers himself something of an overachiever when it comes to education, I guess.
Quirks: Pretty superstitious, and has weird little blends of beliefs around this -- for example, 13 and 17 are both unlucky, especially 17, and particularly bad in dates (Tuesdays or Fridays, he's not exactly picky) -- hopeless with directions, is being convinced you're marked for death really something you could call a quirk? It applies, I guess. Won't give you a straight answer until you want the confusing half-truths he usually comes out with to try and disguise the thing you already know to be true.
Skills: Acting, making random crap up on the fly when asked 'awkward' questions, pretending he knows what he's doing (this is all the same skill), general education-y stuff although Maths and Science are his best subjects. And generally pretending he knows everything through psychology tricks.
Interests/Hobbies: A lot of reading, basically. He's very interested in psychology, especially where it relates to spiritualism and how fraudulent psychics pull the wool over people's eyes. Like cold readings, basically.
Likes: Generally being left alone, used to like being outside rather significantly more but it's not quite the same now he's in a more urban place, the quiet can be nice in moderation and awful when it goes on for too long so music acts as a lifeline sometimes.
Dislikes: Being around lots of people (negative bonus points if it's a proper crowd), being ignored when he does want someone to acknowledge him, spending any significant amount of time around the majority of his family.
Strengths: ... I feel like these are the same as his skills?
Weaknesses: Overthinks his capabilities to the point of basically limiting himself -- once he's convinced himself something is impossible, it becomes impossible.
Fears/Aversions: The dark, small spaces, the idea of dying.
Other Abilities/Special Powers: Now I feel like I should have said something about this earlier... anyway. Elio is a medium, which is the only thing he'll call himself (though he doesn't make a habit of it). There's more witch-ness to his blood than he'd like to consider, frankly, making things a little more interesting than he wants them to be. Bit of a supernatural magnet.
