I thought hard about the girl that was born, and shook my head slowly.
"What should we tell the prince?" I burst out, as the princess washed herself in the spring in front of me.
She looked over, and her gaze turned somber.
"I guess we should give her up for a family. We can tell the prince I had a miscarriage and the baby died." She said, and I stared at her.
"Is that what you want? We can keep her, but we could still have our own child." I protested, but she shook her head slowly.
"It'd be easier for her. After all, she wouldn't be getting the throne without her father here." She said, her voice growing quieter.
I stripped off my clothes and sat beside her in the spring.
"Well it'll be a lot of stress for the family that adopts her. It is for any family." I said to her and curled an arm around her.
"Yes, but it'd hurt her if she knew what a jerk her father was." She mumbled, and I laughed.
"Wow, he must've been really bad if you can't get along with him." I said to her, and she smirked at me.
"You barely scrapped through." She told me, and I rolled my eyes and looked away.
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that." I mused, and looked at the water.
"Maybe I'll train the girl to be the best warrior out there. So she doesn't need to look back at her parents." I said to her, and Aiyana rolled her eyes.
"I don't know. I bet she'll harbor some of her father's genes." She growled, and I shook my head.
"Well let's just relax for now. I'm really tired after my journey, and I just want to spend at least a day with the woman I love." I said, and leaned back and sighed in content as the spring really did help my tired muscles.
"So what was it like over there?" She asked, and I smiled and looked at the sky.
"Really nice actually. But I think the only reason why we weren't killed when spotted, was because Dodger is their lost prince." I said, and her eyes widened.
"Really? He's a prince?" She asked, and I laughed at her shocked expression.
"Yeah. I was wondering where he knew how to handle crystals so well into a personal weapon." I said, and she smiled.
"So what was the coolest crystal you found?" She asked excitedly, and I hummed in wonder.
"Coolest? I'd say the one that makes you fly, and the one that's right beside it on the list, is the one that makes you super quick. It'd be helpful for battles in the future." I said to her, and she smiled and leaned against me.
"Oh yeah, speaking of battles, how is the war between the catori, and the humans?" I asked, and she grunted.
"Quiet actually. It makes me worried. What if it's the peace before the storm?" She asked, and I looked at the water.
"I don't know.. Maybe.." I murmured.
"I think I have to at least try one assassination mission to kill the king." I said, and she stared at me.
