Alberu could still faintly remember that day on the rooftop. A bitter smile etched across his dark skin as he clenches his fists, nails digging deep into the palm of his hands. God.

"Dongsaeng...we both like you— romantically... so I suppose you'd have to choose. B-But don't worry, take your time with it." Alberu had said at the time with a nervous smile as Choi Han eagerly nodded.

Cale's expression at the time was a blooming red.

It was stunning.

But the past was in the past and now look at the once magnificent school president of Roan University. He was sitting on the windowsill of his bedroom gazing at the stars at night.

He was so pathetic that it was funny.

The brunette didn't realize when it happened or how but he could clearly see it in the redhead's eyes whenever he'd glance at the black-haired scholarship student. It glittered with so much hope and fondness that it hurts to even watch it every time.

"Dongsaeng?" He'd call out but Cale was too lost in thought staring at the quiet Choi Han talking to Lock. "Dongsaeng...?" He called out once more but there would be no answer.

Days of this happening turned to weeks and weeks turned to...dare he say it... years .

Cale Henituse had fallen in love with Choi Han for years . The student president could only sigh in disappointment when he realized such a revelation. Who would've thought that a seemingly emotionless bastard fell for the scholarship student?

But nevertheless, his stubbornness didn't let go of Cale no matter what.

"Hey Dongsaeng...wanna go meet up for dinner? Just us two." He asked with a smile as bright as the sun while flexing his wallet in his hand. A smirk crawled to his face as his eyes wandered onto Cale's face. God he needed to stop that.

"Mm, sure." Ahh...that same short and curt reply that Alberu loved hearing.

What a bastard but he loved that same bastard that gave him a headache.

They went to a barbeque house— somewhere loud and 'informal' ...something Alberu Crossman would never go to unless it was for a mission/task. The blonde smiled softly while leading the other to an empty table; his smile was still present on his face, shining as bright as ever.

"Hey...why are we here?" Cale asked, sensing something wrong with Alberu's behavior.

Alberu stared at Cale for a few moment before uttering, "Nothing much, just wanting to try something new is all haha..."

"You'd never go to such a place because you have sensitive ear—- Oh god, fuck. Your ears are bleeding, you bastard!" The redhead paused and took out his phone, dialing for Ron to pick them up.

"Cale...I'm fine."

"No, you're not, you bastar—"

"Let's just finish our meals first, alright? You do know I don't like wasting money or food."

"Fine..."

An awkward silence commenced until Cale inhaled in a deep breath and asked, "Say...why did you ask me out for dinner?" The redhead stabbed a piece of meat in the bowl and dipped it in some sauce.

"I...I wanted to hear your answer."

The eldest Henituse raised an eyebrow before opening his mouth— only to be stopped by Alberu feeding him with some lettuce . "Haha...on second thoughts, we should eat first. Wouldn't want to talk with an empty stomach."

"Alber—"

The student president was one step ahead of the other, "Sorry, miss. Could we order some more meat?" With a dashing smile, he asked as the waitress nodded.

"A—"

"Dongsaeng, why do you eat so little? You should eat some more. Here, here." Alberu ushered to the meat in his plate and fed them once more to Cale who grumbled in response. The blonde's heart pounded in his chest as the ringing in his ears grew louder.

'Why was this place so...loud?' was his thought as he felt some liquid flow down his eardrums.

"Alberu Crossman, we need to talk."

Alberu never considered himself to be this childish but look at him! He was even ignoring someone talking to him simply because he didn't want to hear what the other would say. What a coward he was.

The waitress brought the meat and quickly left as they both finished up.

"Welp, I'm full. How about buying a gift to end the day, huh?"

The redhead didn't answer and walked outside the door of the barbeque house, leaving Alberu in the dust. The blonde quickly paid for the meal before chasing after the other... how ironic . The student president caught up to him fairly quickly and decided to ask, "What's wrong?"

"What do you mean 'what's wrong'...you...you bastard. Why are you acting so differently this evening? You're usually not so fidgety and I know damn well, you'd never eat in such a place because of your sensitive ears. So tell me, Alberu Crossman, what the hell is wrong with you today?" With a burst of emotion, Cale asked, staring right into his ocean blues.

"I...I don't know. I wanted to hear your answer and..." Alberu seemed to lose his voice as his words became that of a mumble. The older male glanced at the floor and rubbed the fabric of his sleeves.

"If it's the answer that you're after...hyung...it's—"

Alberu placed a hand on his shoulder and gave a glittering smile, "I know what you're going to say, Dongsaeng but please let me dream for a little bit longer"

"Please let me dream about how we could go on walks with each other everyday. How we could've had dinner together everyday, walked each other home after and—and how we'd just...stay with each other... " He paused and gulped down his saliva; his heartbeat still pounding loudly in his ears.

"I... god I'm a fool Cale Henituse. I...I knew from the start you liked Choi Han yet— yet I thought I had a chance . I thought you'd change your mind if I tried my best but of course, I don't have the charm that he did. I...I'm not as friendly as him, I'm not as outgoing as him...I'm just... fuck... " Alberu could feel tears forming around his eyes. God he was pathetic.

"Hey Cale...did you know that I dreamt everyday for this date to happen...but now look at me! I'm crying because I know you're going to reject me. I refused to listen to you like a child throwing a tantrum." If Alberu had the chance, he'd love Cale Henituse so much, the other would combust into melting goo.

He'd learn how to properly cook food for the redhead. Learn all the foods he liked and make it for him everyday and he would do everything for him. He'd even bark and grovel at his feet just to be with Cale Henituse. He'd throw away his dignity and pride just for the other.

Alberu Crossman, son of the richest family in Roan University was smitten with the 'trash' son of the Henituse family. "Please...Cale...let me dream for a bit longer..." He whispered one more time and hugged the other, silently crying as his once blonde hair turned brown, his skin turned a darker shade and his eyes shifted from the ocean blue into chocolate hues.

.

"Goddamnit...why did I dream of that memory?" The brunette muttered with a hoarse voice. His body tensed and covered in cold sweat as his breathing was heavy. His hair was a mess as if he had been in a fight to the death while his eyes were wet with tears.

Alberu Crossman, who appeared to be much older, gazed at the letter at his bedside. Its title was simply 'Wedding Invitation.' This letter's color scheme was an eclectic combination of red and black, with white— the color of purity —appearing on occasion.

At a glance, Alberu could tell whose wedding it was...that same shade of red on the letter was enough proof. The brunette recognized that red even from a mile away...after all, it was a color unique to the trash of the count's family.

"Even after all this time...I'm still smitten with you, you fucking bastard..."
