It was a rather quiet week. Nothing too much out of the ordinary, save for the girl frequenting the window. She stared out, waiting for something, or someone.
This person had been gone for the whole week. Something about visiting a friend. The flowers seem to agree that the absence of them is sorrowful, what with the dullness of their colours. This morning, however, the girl was excited. This person, their lover, was coming back home. All those hours she spent staring out the window, waiting, only to be met with a reward. The one whom she adores most is returning!
It was raining this day. The girl loves the rain. Maybe she'll be able to dance with them in the downpour. She grabbed her umbrella and headed out, humming a happy tune. The flowers, finally watered, were bright with joy. Today will be a good, fantastic day.
As the girl headed downtown, the rain only picked up. It got tougher, the wind blowing hard, but she was still making the trek. She would do anything to see her one true love again.
She stopped outside a small shop.
Waiting.
About an hour flew by as she was focusing on the rain. That's when she heard that familiar voice.
"Aingy!!"
Footsteps splashed through the rain, getting louder as the person reached the girl.
Aingeru looked toward the person as leaf pulled her into a tight hug. Her wings had fluttered in the wind, but nothing too strong to blow them away. Aingeru hid her face in her lover's neck before sniv pulled away to shower her in kisses, the gesture which Aingeru returned.
"Jazz!" Aingeru was smiling brightly, Jazz almost going blind by this sudden, new sun. "I missed you so much!"
"I was only gone a week, I've been gone longer!"
Aingeru gave a fake pout. "That doesn't change anything!"
Jazz laughed and they made their way home together, asking about how things went, and Jazz got onto Aingeru for being in such heavy rain.
Harpy watched as Aingeru jumped into a puddle in the front yard. The splash didn't make it far, but it was still worth it. She hummed as she continued stepping into it. The rain only gave her ammunition and motivation.
"Snivy!!" She whipped around. "Wanna dance in the rain?" The winged lass closed her umbrella and held a hand out. Jazz nodded and took her hand.
"Of course."
They laughed as they danced together, not caring if anyone was watching. Aingeru felt like her world was together again. The rain splashing, the flowers swaying, orange and yellow leaves floating down to the ground... It was a scene to remember for ages. Something they'd tell their grandchildren if they ever had any. It was beautiful.
When Snivy grew exhausted, leaf continued watching Aingeru. She was adorable, making wonderful moves in the rain, smiling happily.
Eventually, it started to thunder, and they both went inside. After grabbing a few towels and drying themselves off, the two cuddled on the couch. They enjoyed each other's warmth and company.
And then Aingeru sneezed, to which Jazz once again got onto her for being in the rain.
Guess the first day back will involve taking care of a sick Aingeru.
This is for my good friend Jazz
