After well over 20 tests and not one of 30 doctors could confirm what was wrong with Y/n, she got to go home. Now she laid curled up in bed under the covers, staring off into space as Ferid sat at a desk in the bedroom, scanning through many holographic screens to find anything.
"F-Ferid?" Y/n called out weakly to the vampire.
Immediately she had his attention. He offered her a small smile as he spoke.
"Yes, dear? Do you need anything?"
Y/n pondered over her next words very carefully. Truth be told, she had an idea what was wrong with her, but it made her very, very nervous.
"Can you..." Y/n swallowed a forming lump in her throat, "Can you maybe... get miss Horn?"
Ferid thought over Y/n's odd requestion for a moment, "Crowley's aide?"
"Mhm..."
Ferid stared at Y/n where she hid under the covers with her back to him.
"All right..." he frowned, standing up after a few seconds and leaving.
After an hour or two the blonde-haired female vampire entered the room.
"Y/n?" she started, "I heard you called for me?"
Y/n sat up and nodded as Horn came to stand closer, "I heard you weren't feeling well," she spoke softly and elegantly.
Y/n nodded again, "Yeah... can you do me a favor?"
"I suppose," Horn nodded.
Y/n looked around, "Don't tell Ferid or anyone else, please?"
"Lord Ferid? Why? Would it upset him?" The older female asked.
"I-I don't know..." Y/n looked at the door past Horn, wondering if any of the other vampires were listening, so she motioned Horn to come closer, to which she did.
Y/n whispered in the other female's sharp pointed ears, "Can you get me something?"
"Alright..."
Several hours later Y/n was pacing the bedroom back and forth after she had used what Horn had gotten her.
"I don't think he'll be mad," Horn admitted as she stared at what was in her hands, "Although I will be honest, I didn't know this was possible."
Y/n barely heard her words, too busy biting her thumb nail in stress and nervousness.
"It explains your need for blood," the blonde-haired female commented.
"Take it with you and destroy it..." Y/n said.
Horn looked up from the object in her hands, "What? But what about lord Feri-?"
"I'll... I'll deal with it, but if he finds that, I'm screwed..."
The 17th progenitor sighed, "Alright," she agreed as she slipped the object into her pocket, "I will dispose of it, but if I get in serious trouble for hiding it, I will tell lord Ferid myself."
"That's fine..." Y/n breathed.
Horn stood up, coming going to take her leave and destroy of the evidence she had.
"Good luck, Y/n," she smiled genuinely, "Take care of yourself."
Y/n nodded, "Thank you."
The vampire left, and not a few minutes later Ferid was back.
"What was that about?" He asked with a frown.
"Nothing..." Y/n mumbled as she got back into bed.
The lord's frown deepened, "It didn't seem like nothing," he said as he sat down on the edge of the bed, putting a hand on Y/n's side.
Y/n didn't answer, only lay where she was, not facing her lover.
"I'm here if you want to talk...?" Ferid tried, becoming more increasingly worried about Y/n. He didn't know he could feel so worried about somebody before.
It had been a few weeks since Y/n had drunken the soldier's blood, and over that time, she only became more quiet and more distant from Ferid.
That really upset the vampire.
After the several weeks where Y/n no longer visited him in his office or really had dinner with him anymore in the dining room, and they only saw each other for bed, Ferid's heart couldn't take it anymore.
Ferid came to bed early that night before Y/n fell asleep. He entered the room and quietly shut the door behind him, locking it. Y/n sat up in the bed on her knees, facing away from the vampire. She didn't even really notice him.
Ferid, as quiet as a church mouse, took his boots off and extra layers off and just left them draped over a chair by the door. He could take care of them later.
He made his way over to the bed and crawled closer to Y/n, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her back into his lap.
Y/n immediately tensed at the touch and tried to get out of his hold, but Ferid didn't let go. He securely kept Y/n where she now sat.
"What's wrong with you?" He suddenly asked quietly, "You've been acting so weird the past few weeks..."
Y/n hesitated with guilt for a moment before turning back to a worried neutral, "Nothing's wrong with me," she lightly argued.
"Yes, there is," Ferid argued back a bit harsher. Y/n wasn't herself anymore, and he quite missed the bubbly shy girl he came to love.
"No, there isn't!" Y/n finally wrestled her way out of the vampire's hold. It was more like Ferid let go before he figured he'd accidentally hurt Y/n.
Ferid stared into Y/n's hurt and clouded e/c eyes and he found something.
"You know what's wrong with you, don't you?"
