I was under 24 hour supervision now. Cameras were installed in my bedroom and even the bathroom and closet. Neither Jessabelle nor Alaric believed that I didn't try to off myself.
I couldn't blame them. The words that came out of my mouth the day I woke up was enough to make them doubt me. I've requested to see Alaric three times since I was discharged. He declined all of them.
Another three days have passed by and I was stuck in this room. Jessabelle brought all my meals and she would stay to talk to me until I was finished. I've started thinking of her as my friend.
After all, the clothes on my back were hers, and she takes time out of her day to be with me.
When I'd gotten back to my room, I noticed that there really wasn't a minibar in the corner. Was I going mad? No, then how could I have gotten drunk. There was something about the situation that I wasn't being told about.
I figured that out when Jessabelle refused to speak about the incident. Every time I bought it up, she dodged it or changed the topic. I was determined to find out what really happened that night. Something wasn't adding up.
I got ready for the day. Jessabelle lent me a lovely red cami dress, this time and a pair of red strappy sandals. They fit me perfectly, as expected. I yanked on the denim jacket she'd dropped off the day before and it pulled the whole look together.
I brushed through my hair, defining my curls before parting it down the middle. I parted a section to the front and made two cornrows on either side of my head, using a rubber band to secure it at the tip of my ear. I hid the ends inside the rest of my loose curls that dropped a little way past my shoulders.
Once I was happy with the style, I did my edges and coated my lips with the pink tinted lip gloss that I also got from Jessabelle. I smiled as I thought about her. She was going above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of.
The past few days I didn't even bother to brush my teeth. I was stuck in this room, after all. However, I fully intended to go outside today. It was starting to get stuffy in here. I was alone the majority of the time because despite how unassuming my dear friend Jessabelle is, she does have her duties. Her husband and mate Alucard De Luca, is the Beta and in his absence she picked up the mantle. She couldn't spend all her time with me.
There were businesses to be run, and pack issues to be handled. I could never comprehend how much pressure Alpha Alaric must be under. I trudge out of the bathroom and sat down on the ottoman near the big glass window. I looked out of it while I waited patiently to hear that country twanged voice greet me.
The window was my only source of entertainment. The first time I looked through it, I was surprised. Stories often described The Heart of Lilith as a desolate place. The tales told of wilted trees, burnt grass and old broken down buildings. The legends emphasized how unhappy the people were, how they slept in the open with little to no food.
