Streets and roads are always crowded in the mornings. Salary men and students are the majority contributor to the crowd factor. While walking on a street with such a setup, you are bound to hear someone saying how beautiful their morning is and how they will be productive in their jobs. Some students are talking about homework and kinds of stuff, where should they hang out after school, and other mundane topics. They are leisurely enjoying their youth. They forget their responsibilities of equipping themselves for a better future and waste their time on something like socializing and such. I may be the same on forgetting one's responsibility, but I am fundamentally different from them in one aspect; I am not enjoying the evil called youth.

While thinking about that, a dog that may have gotten off leash entered my vision. It is about to be hit by a car. At that time, no straight thoughts appeared in my mind. I mindlessly jumped in and saved the dog. Instead of that damn dog, I got hit by the car. The world blackouts before me.

What's with this smell, a smell of disinfectant entered my nose. I can't remember what happened.

yeah, now I remember that I got hit by a car while trying to save a dog.

I slowly opened my eyes. A janitor entered my sight, he is cleaning the floor using a mop and some sort of disinfectant with a familiar smell. oh, that's where the smell comes from. There is a clock hanging on the wall which reads 7:30. Oh, it seems I am sleeping for nearly a day.

Now, observing closely, it seems I was admitted to a hospital and my injuries seem to be not series, as you can see from the lack of monitoring. If I am severely injured, at least there will be a nurse tasked to keep an eye on my condition.

A nurse entered the room, upon seeing that I am awake she slowly picks the intercom to inform about my condition to a doctor, I assume. Her action further proved that I only suffered from very few injuries.

Now only, I remember to check my body. Everything appears to be fine, except I can't move my right leg. I tried a tad too hard, and a sharp pain resonated through my whole body. I suddenly remembered a scenario from an old soap opera where a person's leg had been removed after being severally injured. Furthermore, I panicked and removed the covers on my legs.

A bandage wrapped right presented itself to also wrapped peculiarly, maybe it was done so to ease the strain. I suddenly released a breath of relief, even though I am not aware of holding it. I don't know whether I should be happy for my leg not being removed or sad that my leg is broken. The sleepiness may be caused by anesthetics.

"Hello Hikigaya-kun, feeling good I presume", a doctor, entered the room.

"Mostly, just somewhat dizzy", I replied to him.

He then proceeds to ask some more questions, which appears to be routine for doctors to ask such questions to patients who regain their consciousness.

"Everything seems fine, other than your leg, you are good." By saying this, he left just like that without further clarification.

After the doctor left the room, three people entered the room, they are none other than my parents and my little sister. Now I see why the doctor didn't say anything to me, as they tend not to tell anything about the patient's conditions to themselves. My parents are here, so the doctor didn't bother to discuss it with me.

Despite neglecting me most of the time, my parents did care about me to some extent. That being said, if they have done their job perfectly, then I wouldn't have ended up as a pessimistic individual.

Komachi being the youngest reached me first and asked, "oni-chan! are you good? Komachi is worried sick due to your stunt, stupid oni-chan."

"Hachiman, are you feeling good? Does it hurt badly? Do you need some painkillers or something? " my mom starts to bombard me with questions, as she failed to mask her worries.
