The Present

After completing the request, I finally made up my mind. I should care less about society. It's not like I cared about that before. I am going to enjoy the present and future with her. I don't want to be basked in the shell of fakeness for the shake of society. If I had done that, then I would have betrayed my feeling of genuineness.

Yukino is currently eating her portion of cookies. Her soft, cheery blossom lips captured my sight. It was nothing but graceful to watch them move while chewing the cookies and her hand bringing the cookie for another bite. How is it possible to eat and still be so beautiful and attractive? Something grows inside of me. I had already sampled the cookies she had baked, but I felt another urge rising on. When did I start acting this way?

Yukino stood from her chair, started packing her things, and motioned me to do the same. She then proceeds to close the club room. Now it's the time, I steeled up my resolve and asked,

"Well, Yukino"

"Yes"

"Let's leave school together"

Since that fateful day, we frequently travel home together. I would occasionally give her a lift on my bike while sometimes we would walk. However, we never departed the school grounds together. Instead, we permanently established a meeting location a bit farther from the school. In essence, this makes our relationship a secret, even if we never planned to do so. Maybe I had some plan to hide it, but not now.

"Did I hear right? Does my mind play tricks on me? The greatest loner of Chiba asks for company, it's a rare phenomenon to occur"

She does have a loose tongue.

"I may be failed to describe us, to others but I still want to express myself to you. Also, don't forget that we went home together many times since year."

I might be horrible for not telling people about us. When I confessed my feelings to her, I decided to open up to her. That entails spending much time with her. Laying myself bare from the get-go is not easy. If it's easy, then understanding others becomes as simple as everyone can be seen threw, and there will be no pretense in relationships.

"Usual place?" she asked.

"No, I was planning... that we should go together from here. But, unfortunately, I don't arrive on a bicycle today. So, I believe we are walking."

Her expression softened. She held my hand, and in a soothing voice, she said,

"I am happy to go with you, Hachiman. But wait in the corridor of the main building while I return these keys."

I nodded in approval. Yukino left for the teacher's lounge, I started walking toward our meeting point.

After a few minutes, Yukino appeared with her school bag. We walked towards the gate of the school. I grabbed her soft hands, which she adjusted her hand at first, then entwined her fingers with mine. We have been holding hands for long enough, though the sensation of satisfaction brought by her soft and warm hands never ceases to astonish me.

There will be no students on the school campus at these times. But I won't stop holding her hand even if the whole school is present. She developed into something irreplaceable for me, a being that completes or complements me. I have become cheesy these days.

On our way walking, I could hear her ragged breath, she noticed my gaze,

"Before you ask, today our class had P.E, and the teacher made us run two rounds on the ground before regular work"

A typical high school girl can accomplish such feats, but we're talking about Yukino here. She possesses talent in many areas, but her stamina is the only thing standing in the way of her full potential. I need to broach this subject with tact. I don't want to spoil her mood. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise, now I can propose my idea without any hitch. You may ask why I need such an excuse to ask what I desire. Suddenly, it is not easy for a loner like me to turn like that.
