Ji Xing woke up in the middle of the night, covered in sweat. She had a nightmare, and when she woke up, her heart was beating out of control.

She's been under too much pressure over the investment lately. The company has been operating for more than a month, and nearly 200,000 yuan has been spent on various expenses. They still haven't purchased the equipment to make samples. If this continues, they'll be forced to stop sooner or later.

She buried her head in her pillow in agony, mentally exhausted and in desperate need of sleep, but her thoughts were tangled and painful. She tossed and turned until it was almost dawn before gradually falling asleep.

She had not slept for long when her alarm clock rang at eight o'clock. She got up and washed her face with two big dark circles under her eyes.

Tu Xiaomeng came out of the bathroom and saw her. She patted her shoulder as she said, "Xing'er, don't be too stressed. Everything will be fine."

Ji Xing forced a smile.

When she went downstairs, she took a breath in the cool spring breeze and walked to the subway station. She received a call from Shao Yichen on the way.

"Hello?" Her voice was too low, and it took Shao Yichen a few seconds to ask, "Bad mood?"

"I'm fine," she said, but then couldn't help lowering her voice, "I'm a little scared... scared that XingChen won't make it... no one is willing to invest."

Shao Yichen said,"It's not that they're not willing, just haven't reached an agreement yet."

"It's the same thing!" she raised her voice and then lowered it again, "I'm sorry."

"Don't be too stressed," he said softly, "Think of it as a test and give it your all. Success is good, but if you fail, what can you do? Going back to work is not the end of the world, there's nothing to regret."

Ji Xing lowered her head, pressed her frowning forehead, saying in a low voice, "Stop talking."

She knew he was trying to console her, but right now, the last thing she wanted to hear were those words.

"What else is there to say?" A man's voice asked Shao Yichen a question on his side. Shao Yichen replied to him with a few words while he was still on call.

"Your colleague? You should go back to work. I'll be fine," Ji Xing said.

"Okay. Call me if you need anything." He hung up.

Although Ji Xing was feeling uncertain and fearful, the moment she entered the office building, she straightened her posture and forced a smile, making herself look confident and energetic. When she walked into the company, she looked poised and motivated as everyone there was still immersed in the optimistic and enthusiastic atmosphere of the beginning of a startup. The sight of them working hard was her only comfort.

In the afternoon, Ji Xing went to the materials research institute to learn about the purchase of materials. Wei Qiuzi took the time to ask her about the investment situation. Ji Xing simply shook her head.

Wei Qiuzi said, "You're so calm, it's like you're not worried at all."

Ji Xing said, "...I'm just pretending, okay?"

"Are you here to buy materials today?"

"I'm here to look at the prices and quality and to learn about the different types of materials available. I can't buy materials without equipment."
