The train ride felt like hours, a whole new life awaiting for me. What could be in store? I have heard the rumours, whether it's Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. I like the sound of adrenaline for Slytherin. Although I'm not sure what route sounds right for me. Brave, strong and independent or is it, sly, cunning and reliable maybe its, smart, intelligent and resourceful or may it just be bright, loving and supportive. It will be a lot to take in all at once. So many new people, new places and new things. A whole new everything.
Me and my parents have never gotten along from a very young age and probably never will. I found out I was a witch when I had a vision, a vision like no other. Seeing myself into the future, fast forwarding time. I was curious, intrigued , bewildered. My thought process was not clear at the time, but the image in my head was so clear I could not let the thought pass. I sat down with my parents, anxious whether they would turn around and call me a fool or whether they could somewhat help what I have imagined. At first when I told them, no simple clear expression grew upon there faces, instead it was hazy, small, uncomfortable glances past to one and other.
"We thought maybe you would never find out, but I think its time we tell you, me and your father were never the ordinary growing up. We were special, different to most people."
"What are you talking about?" I slurred my words, curious to know what they were getting at.
"You will not yet be familiar with the term muggles, but we are no such. You see my sweetest daughter we are wizards."
"You must be lying, there is no such." Whether to believe my parents or my idea on so called science was baffling, I stuttered each word I spoke. However my parents have never been the joking type.
"We have no time to discuss further, pack your things,"
So you see, that is how I ended up right on this train, right in this this seat travelling into a new place of so real wonders.
"Not much further to go now, get your robes on we will be arriving in approximately 10 minutes." The short slumped train conductor bellowed over the old rusting speakers.
Slipping my silk robe on I felt a part of something, a feeling like I was relevant for once in my life. My stomach was dropping as we got closer and closer. My hairs stood up on end, I felt cold and anxious however I am not sure why, I think it was the fact I did not know what I was going to encounter. Time had flown since when the announcement had been called, although I think what consumed my time was trying to learn to tie my tie. The train came to a sudden holt, I could see the sparks passing my window as the train wheels screeched against the tracks. Exiting the train, the air was warm and sweet. I looked around till my eyes led to a sight of the most beautiful enchanting place I had to now call home. Walking through towering trees on a long rocky path felt like a out of reality experience. Vines weaved threw the colossal metal gates. A man with a long beard and a blue cotton robe seemed to be awaiting for me on the opposite side.
"Greeting folks, welcome to Hogwarts. I understand you have started mid term but that is no problem, you will be assigned houses shortly."
A large group of us took in every sight of the building before entering a large hall with hundreds of students left and right. We all were ushered to the front where we would stand and intelligent wait for our names to be called.
"When I call your name, you will sit in this stool and have the sorting hat placed on your head to be assorted into your house. The house you are selected into will be your family for the future and will not change."
"Sienna Mae"
"Cunning but ambitious for a good future, willing to make it work, hmmm Ravenclaw!"
"Phoebe Drummond"
The hat did not even need to touch a hair on my head.
"Slytherin"
The house cheered, I went and sat down. The list of names continued until a platter of food appeared across the table. I was starved after the on going train ride. To the left me there was a brown haired girl sat next to a boy with brunette curtains. They turned to me.
"Hey I am Madison and this is Bobbie, what is your name?"
Slightly startled I looked up "Oh hey! I am Phoebe, Phoebe Drummond."
"Well its nice meeting you, you can hang with us if you like, over there are our house prefects, Freddie Jones and Olivia may and I will introduce you to the rest of our house when we get to the common room" Bobbie said.
I smiled before shortly getting pulled away by Freddie followed by Olivia.
"Follow us, we will lead you to the common room where you will sleep and hang with your friends. To gain access to the room you will have to say the password which should not be shared with any other houses it is "pure blood" Freddie stated.
"easy to remember right?" Olivia added.
I nodded, by the time we had arrived everyone had made it there before us I am not sure what way we had taken but it must of been a longer route. As I entered the common room all eyes flooded on me. I gave a warming smile and entered walking towards bobbie and madison.
"Hey phoebe it should be about time we introduce you to everyone around here, this is Crab and Goyle."
They looked at me and smirked.
A tall blonde haired boy stood up quickly "And I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy"
I smiled at each of them. "Phoebe Drummond, nice to meet you."
Draco smirked and sat back down. He was rather good looking, his eyes were crystal blue creating a sharp horizon line between my glistening reflection. His hair was soft and thick spread equally in curtains. I did not realise how much I was staring at him before he stood up and brushed his hand across my upper thigh. I must have blushed so much in the moment. Bobbie turned to me and looked at me up and down.
"I think we are all heading off to bed now, Madison will show you to your room."
As we walked further into the common room Madison brought up Draco. "Did you see the way he looked at you?"
"You think it was something? I am sure it was nothing I did not even give it a second thought to be honest with you madison." I said denying it.
"It was definitely something, goodnight Phoebe I will see you tomorrow morning.
I sat on my bed, it was comfy, probably the most relaxed I had felt in a while. I did not really think of my parents, it feels some what peaceful that they were not around. Getting lost in my own thoughts I startled at a knock on my door. I assumed it was Madison.
"Come in" I said.
The same familiar faced boy from earlier entered, Draco.
"I would assume you have nothing to sleep in as you have only arrived not long ago, take this it should do you until tomorrow when you go to Hogsmeade."
He pulled of his T-shirt and chucked it to me revealing his sharped defined abs. I gazed at him in utter awe.
"Thanks Malfoy."
"Goodnight Drummond." he winked and closed the doors.
His T-shirt smelt of his fresh cologne which was strongly lingering in the air. I sat on my window sill and lit the end of my cigarette, I knew already I was going to like it here. This was my start to a new beginning.
