~ Riki's POV ~
- Cut! – We were in the middle of shooting a pre-recorded performance for an award show. – Riki, you need to be stronger, braver! When you're jumping, stop waving your arms around like that.
My scene included my jumping down from a platform next to the others, transitioning to the chorus. It was quite a big jump, but it looked cool. So, I pushed my fears to the side, and attempted the jump again.
I was preparing to step off the platform, when my boots slipped, and I fell backwards. I had enough time to turn sideways, so I wouldn't land on my back, instead I landed on my right shoulder.
I heard the others yelling, and people crowded around me. My shoulder felt like it was on fire, it definitely dislocated.
- Riki, are you okay? Are you hurt? – The medic on scene arrived quickly, and examined me. I was almost in tears from the pain, but tried to tough it out. – Oh, it's definitely dislocated. Listen, this will hurt, but bear with me. 3, 2...
He didn't even count to one, and pushed it back. I got nauseous from the sudden wave of pain, and almost passed out. I felt hands holding me up, and after a minute, it seemed to pass. I carefully stood up, and felt fine.
- It's okay, I'm fine, we can continue. – The others gave me concerned looks, but we had to continue, we didn't have much time. I finished the performance, but by the end, I was barely able to move my shoulder.
- I think you need to get it checked out. – Sunoo said to me on our way home. I tried to hide the pain as best as I could, but it didn't seem to work.
- We'll see how I am tomorrow. – I didn't want to cause any disturbances in our schedule, we had little to no room for error this comeback. I would rather be in pain, than to have the others re-choreograph the dances to 6 people.
~
I woke up early, and I immediately knew, that something wasn't right. My injured shoulder felt stiff, and I was barely able to move it without causing an extreme amount of pain.
I knew I needed to have a professional take a look at it, but we had the award show scheduled today.
I needed to continue.
- Good morning, Riki, how are you? How is your shoulder? – Sunghoon was sitting in the dining room, drinking coffee.
- Good morning, I'm fine. And you?
- I feel good today, thank you. Is your shoulder better? It looked like it was hurting yesterday.
- It was hurting, but it's all good now. – I was getting better at lying to my members, a quality in myself, that I despised. But it was necessary sometimes for the bigger picture.
~
When we arrived to the venue, I was in constant pain. It was getting worse and worse by the minute, and it was getting harder to conceal the pained expression on my face.
- So, we prerecorded the performance yesterday, but you guys still need to be on stage. You won't have to actually dance, it won't be shown on TV, just the performance. After that, if you win any awards, you have the speech prepared, you all need to say something to the fans, okay? Other than that, act like you're having fun, interact with the others, and smile! Riki, smile! – That last part was directed at me, so I forced a smile on my face, and we proceeded into the venue.
We sat down, and the show started. Group after group went on stage and either performed or we watched the recording. It was quite entertaining, and for a little bit, I forgot about my injury.
~
It was out turn. We stepped on stage, and watched the performance on the screen. You could definitely tell, where the footage was cut, and after, the pain on my face was obvious. I had to turn away, I couldn't watch myself.
Then, as soon as it ended, it was time for awards. We stood on stage with the other groups and soloists, and waited anxiously for the results.
We won, by a landslide. The stage exploded with confetti and we gladly stepped forward to accept the trophy.
- Ah, we're so happy! We want to thank Engene, who made all of this possible! – Jungwon was choking back tears, he was always so touched, when we won something. I was smiling and clapping behind him, and I got to admit, my eyes were teary as well.
Someone then suddenly shoved me forward, pushing my right shoulder. I fell forwards, and let out a scream in pain. I managed to steady myself by grabbing onto Jungwon, but the damage was done. Everyone saw me, they knew how I was still hurting.
But that was the least of my problems right now. I tried to move my shoulder, and instantly knew, that it slipped out of place again. I had to squat down, I couldn't stand up, my legs were shaking. I was crying, I didn't care if the microphone picked it up.
- Come on, let's go down. – Jay hyung held my left shoulder, and slowly pulled me up. He assisted me off stage, handed me over to our staff, and ran back to the others. They still had an acceptance speech and encore stage to finish.
- Is it still hurting, or what happened? – The medic asked me, as helped me stand.
- No, it's... dislocated... - I sobbed out. He nodded, and waved for a manager.
- Hold his hand, this will be painful, okay? – He didn't count down now, he just pushed it back in one, precise motion.
The agony was worse than anything I've ever felt. I cried out, and collapsed into our manager's arm. He helped me sit down, and held my hand, until the others arrived.
I was still a mess, as they surrounded me, I didn't even realize at first, that they were there.
- What happened? – Sunghoon asked.
- His shoulder got dislocated again, it was probably still weak from yesterday. He should've had it looked at, but now he needs to. If he doesn't it can lead to permanent damage, and as a dancer, he wouldn't like that. Do you hear me, Riki? – I nodded.
He was right, of course. The others needed to go back to finish the award show, while two managers took me to a nearby hospital. There, I got a cast, that I need to wear a while, and also pain meds.
I was not happy at all. As the doctor said, I was a dancer, and I need to use my hands.
But, I played a stupid game by not getting it treated, and I got a stupid prize.
From then, I always took my health seriously, to avoid permanent or long-term damage.

Ahh, sorry, this probably wasn't that great, but it was sitting in the drafts for a while, and I wanted to get it out :(
