I was sat on the stage stretching out and talking with some people, when the director came on stage and called everyone in the cast over.

"Alright! We have MisCast coming up in a couple months! I got a call and we have our number!" This got everyone excited

I was eager as this would be my first miscast.

"We are doing..." We all did a drumroll on the floor, "Newsies Carrying the Banner!"

We all cheered but I was shocked. Newsies? Newsies! This is the best thing that could have happened. I needed to call Mike but I had a show and so did he. I decided to just show up at his apartment tonight. Maybe I would call him, maybe I wouldn't. Who knows.

"Alright! This will be a lot of work. Long rehearsals on off days! We start rehearsing in a week at 42nd Steet! Show time is in an hour! Let's get to it."

And with this I went back to my dressing room and started my routine.

. . .

At last, the 8pm show was over and I was ready to go home. I finished my stage-door appearance and packed my tote bag. I called a taxi and gave the driver Mikes address. I knew he would be home by now cause he had a show an hour before mine. I put on my headphones and after about 10 minutes the driver dropped me off at Mikes apartment building. I paid the woman and got out of the car. I caught the elevator up to his apartment. I knocked on his door and... Tommy answered the door.

"Hey Jocelyn." He said simply

"Hey Tommy? Am I in the right place? Mike said he lived here." I looked down at my phone with our texts open when he told me his address

"Oh one second." Tommy stepped back from the door, inviting me in. I stepped into the home as Tommy knocked on somebody door.

It opened and out stepped Mike about to complain to his bestfriend.

"Tommy, man, I was sleeping. I th- oh. Hey Jocey." He then saw me and his complaining stopped.

"Hey Mikey. I'm sorry. I'll go." I turned towards the door

"No. No! Don't leave." He grabbed my wrist

By this point Tommy was back in his room and it was just Mike and I.

"I won't go." I fully turned towards Mike and he led me towards the couch. I took in his outfit which was simple but looked really good on him.

Mike wore grey sweats and a black Newsies sweater. This made me remember I never gave him the sweater he gave me back.

"So, what's up." He asked me and threw his legs across my lap

"Well, they announced our MisCast number today, and it turns out, we're doing Newsies!"

He sat up excitedly and a large smile grew on his face.

"No way! You're lying!" He laughed

"No! No, I'm not!" He pulled my back against his chest and presses a kiss to my cheek as our laughter died down.

We sat and talked for a few minutes before Mike proposed we watch a movie. He turned on My Girl which was one of his personal favorites. I layed my head on chest as he pulled a blanket over us. After about 30 minutes, I could feel my eyes getting heavy.

*Mikes pov*

"So Jocelyn, I have something to ask you."

I waited for a response but didn't get one.

"Jocelyn?" I looked down and saw she was sleeping

I mentally slapped myself on the forehead. I turned off the t.v. and pulled the blanket up more before going to sleep myself.

. . .

*jocelyns pov*

My eyes fluttered open and then widened once I caught sight of a clock. I scrambled out of Mikes grip and that immediately woke him up.

"Jocelyn? Whats going on?" He sat up and rubbed his eyes

"I'm so sorry Mikey. I have a wedding rehearsal for my brother, Andrew, and I'm practically late!"

I shoved my shoes on my feet and grabbed my bag. I headed for the door when Mike grabbed my hand.

"Wait Jocelyn. I meant to ask you this last night but you fell asleep and-"

"Mike, I really have to go."

"Will you be my girlfriend!" He yelled out

"Oh."

"Oh my god. Jocelyn I am so sorry! That came out of nowhere."

"Yes."

"What?"

"I said yes!"

He immediately pulled me into a hug before I reminded him of why I was in a rush.

"Mike. Wedding rehearsal." I said as he let go

"I'll see you later?"

"I'll call you."
