After the events of Wano and the defeat of Kaïdo, the Mugiwara and the Hearts Pirates crews had to split up to go under the radar of the Marines. They had planned to reunite in a few weeks.

Law had hated to feel his heart clench in his chest at the Mugiwara captain's casual "Goodbye." He hated the Alpha as much as he loved him.

Mugiwara no Luffy was his new – impossible, beautiful, fierce – cross to bear. His unwanted feelings for the Alpha had arisen in an unexpected way.

Although he had met the man in the flesh at Sabaody Archipelago, Law had followed his adventures on the Grand Line with interest since the reckless attack on Enies Lobby. To tell the truth, he admired the young captain's madness.

And their meeting had been absolutely glorious.

Mugiwara had exceeded all his expectations.

Law had felt in love with the young man the very moment his fist had met the Tenryūbito's jaw. He had discovered how hard he had felt with the Alpha a few days later, when he had learned that Impel Down had been broken into by the said Alpha to allow Fire Fist Ace to escape. Without success. It didn't take Law long to figure out what was going to happen next. For some reason he didn't know then, it was clear that Mugiwara wanted to save Fire Fist Ace.

A dark feeling had taken root deep in his soul, something he had not felt in a long time: fear.

This fear had led him to sail to Marineford, hoping to arrive in time to help the reckless captain. What he didn't anticipate, however, was ending up bonded with the young captain after the whole thing. As much in love as he was with Mugiwara, Law had never intended to have a relationship with him. He didn't really see the point of creating something with the Alpha when he didn't plan to come out of his next encounter with Doflamingo alive.

But that didn't mean he would let him die stupidly if he could help it.

As he had been changing the young Alpha's bandages after the long surgery he had performed to save his life, the Alpha had bitten him, right on his pheromones glands, bonding them together for life.

Truly, it had been his own mistake.

Worn out by the long intervention and subjected for far too long to the pheromones of the Alpha he loved, his heat had been triggered earlier than expected. And, like a moron, he hadn't allowed Bepo to take care of the injured boy as he had been struggling with the first symptoms of his upcoming heat.

Mugiwara had woken up for a few moments, enough to be bewitched by the scent of an Omega in heat and had bitten him without being aware of it.

Even now Law didn't know if Luffy knew about the mark he had left on his neck.

"Land in sight!" announced Bepo, loud and clear. "The Sunny is already here."

Law sighed.

Within a few minutes the Alpha would be all over him, choking him with his enthusiastic embrace, without regard to his personal space, unaware of the torture he would inflict on him by doing so.

The thing was...

He came out of his encounter with Doflamingo alive. And again with Kaïdo. Luffy hadn't let him die like he had planned for a long time. And the hope of a future alongside his Alpha had begun to make its way into Law's chest as he found himself, against all odds, with a life to live. But there was another issue against which Law unfortunately could do nothing about.

To his misfortune, the young Captain was a Prima Alpha.

With any other Alpha, Law would just have to wait for them to realize that they were bonded. Not with Luffy-ya, though. He should have seen it coming at Sabaody. Only a Prima would do something as stupid as hitting a Marījoa nobleman...
