Felix
Esme had settled in our cabin quite well. After she gained back her energy from a well needed rest. She sat at the table to eat Arianna's leftover Coney in Civey.
Poor girl.
After that happened to her today she still seemed optimistic although she was sad after the tragic events that took place at her family cottage.
"Thank you" the auburn haired young woman beamed wiping her mouth with a cloth, laid down her spoon inside of the bowl.
I smiled sitting across from her eating my own bowl of Coney in Civey. "You're welcome. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Esme"
Dominic nodded his head showing his interest unlike Arianna who simply frowned rolling her eyes knitting herself a blanket.
"Oh I pray thee, father" she scoffed under her breath. "Do you actually believe her up made bullshit of a fucking story?" I turned my head to furiously at her in the eye.
Dominic hissed through his teeth. "Arianna, what on earth are you playing at? You saw what Esme was like when we found her in the barn earlier today"
Arianna slammed her unfinished knitted blanket onto the table flaring her nostrils. "Oh poor little Esmeralda!" She stood out of sit stomping her feet.
"She could be a witch for all we know"
Esme rosed from her sit in a calm demeanour. "Look, Arianna. I know it sounds ridiculous but" Arianna snapped "don't need to explain yourself any further. I know you're lying because your nothing but a witch and a fucking murder!"
"Arianna!" I shouted standing up from my sit slamming my fist against the table. "That is enough. Now please let Esme speak her truth without rudely interrupting her again"
Arianna silently clenched her jaw staring at the wall. Esme nodded to me chocking back her tears. "I understand why you don't believe me ,Arianna and that's fine by me"
".I didn't believe in the legend of the shavers but" a single tear rang down upon Esme's cheek. "Seeing the ones you love the most died in front of your eyes is something I will never forget for the rest of my life.
Esme sat back down sobbing. Dominic ran over to comfort her. "And I wouldn't never wish that same pain on anyone. So you can call me a witch and a murder all you want to Arianna" she sniffed holding on tight to her emerald green neck.
"Because I haven't made up a silly fucking story!" Esme yelled through her teeth crying banging her hands against the table until they turned red.
Arianna clicked her heels and waltzed to her bedroom slamming the door. "I'm so sorry about my sister's rude and uncalled behaviour this evening" Dominic rubbed my back kindly apologising.
"I cry your mercy, Esme. I must apologise as well" I laid my hand across my chest, doing my best to be reassuring to her our house guest. "Arianna hasn't trust another woman under the same roof as her own. Since her and Dominic's mother passed tragically"
"Oh Felix" Esme gasped covering her mouth. "I'm so sorry for loss" I chimed "thank you, Esme. I miss my darling Connie everyday"
Dominic chocked up wiping the tears under his eyes. "And I'm very for loss too, Esme"
"Thank you" she half-smiled as I grabbed a hold of her hand.
I lovingly hugged my son and placed a against his forehead. A sudden knock on the door soon cut it short.
"Who is it?" I called out a bit irritated. "It's Reiss. Now Felix open the door it's urgent!"
Walking to the front door I opened it wide. Not expecting too see Reiss flustered in his armour with sweat dripping across his umber forehead.
"Prince Hugo is dead!" He uttered. "Dead?" Reiss repeated. "Yes dead. Tillot informed that some sort of creature called a shaver broke into the dungeon and ripped him apart"
I stared at Esme whose ivory skin turned pale the pure mention of the name shaver.
"Does our queen know of this information?" I inquired placed my holster belt around my waist. Before I grabbed my sword. Felix shook his head "No not of yet"
"You two!" I directed my focus on Esme and Dominic. "Stay here look after Arianna and lock the doors and windows dead shut!"
Dominic saluted me. "Yes father!" I saluted him back. "Good I'll be back very soon" I stepped out of the door looking both ways. "I'll see you Anon"
"See you anon, Felix" Esme waved kindly. Dominic ran over to gave a quick hug. "Be careful father!"
I curved a small smirk across my lips. "Son I'm always careful"
