Jack awoke to the sudden sound of a glass shattering, he sat up in an instant and looked around. He was...on his couch, "...huh."
Jack looked around the room and noticed Peter standing behind a broken glass on the floor.
"What happened?" He asked concerned if Peter hurt himself.
Peter looked back at Jack and sighed exhaustedly, "Well, incase you didn't notice - I'm not wearing any glasses so I couldn't see one of Dee's toys on the floor. So, I tripped and dropped the glass."
Jack blinked for a minute processing what he said, then it clicked that Peter wasn't wearing any glasses. (Yes, in this story Peter is a little pathetic boy and needs his glasses /hj)
"Do you uh- need help with cleaning that up?" Jack stood up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen.
Peter shook his head, he didn't seem like he was going to let anyone help him on this. Peter walked over to the broom closet and grabbed a broom and dust pan. Jack watched for a minute as Peter cleaned up before checking the time.
"Oh shit, I got an hour til work!" Jack exclaimed quickly running upstairs to his room to get dressed and quickly shower.
Dave locked his house door behind him, and grabbed his bag he left on the ground. His demeanour of walking was much more energetic as he walked to work, he was excited to get to work with Jack. Dave eventually got to the circus, the doors were closed. Dave took his bag and shuffled through it to find the key to open the door.
"...haha, where the hell is it..." Dave muttered to himself looking deeper in the bag. There were soft footsteps coming from behind Dave, he turned his head and saw...Jack.
"Oh- hi Jack." Dave greeted him, keeping a smile trying not to make it visible he was struggling to find a key.
Jack glanced at Dave, then at his bag, he raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing..?" He asked.
Dave took his bag off his shoulder and he placed it on the ground where he kneeled next to it digging through some more. "I can't find the damn key to open the doors." He grumbled.
"Well, shit I guess. How are we gonna get in?" Jack questioned, he looked back up in the sky and back, "And I'm almost certain it's going to rain soon."
Dave groaned in frustration, "Of course it's gonna rain...Henry isn't here today. If I can't find the key, at all, then I'm gonna have to close the circus for today. And it'd suck for you because it's only your first day, I wanna make it great for you." he admitted.
"Well, I appreciate the worry. But if you don't find the key, I'll be fine if we can't work. Glad you tried to find the key to let me have work today." Jack replied reassuringly to Dave.
Dave blushed slightly, but he smiled back, "I'm doing my best."
Dave scrambled through his bag a bit more, and ended up not finding anything. He sighed and stood up throwing his bag back over his shoulder, "No key. Henry's gonna be so pissed when he finds out god fucking dammit.."
