Overlooked

Chapter 1

"Have a great day at school honey!" My mom said as I left to go to school.

I guess I should tell you about me, I'm Anna Currie, but people see me wrong.i have friends, but the normal amount, not popular, but not a nobody. I'm pretty, but not gorgeously or ugly. Single, only child, and my parents are divorced. The same year that my parents divorced my grandmother died, my dads new girlfriend came in with her daughter, and I became a smaller priority. My mom also got married that year to a new guy, Lance. He was cool don't get me wrong but I didn't like it one bit, but I know that would hurt my mom and I couldn't do that to her. Oh yeh also I am 17. Not that big of a deal but when all that happens in one year, it hurts.

My best friend is Melissa, she is pretty much one of the only people that almost understands me, but she has barely scratched the surface. I am really messed up and people just don't care enough to notice. I am not quite depressed, just hurt. Hurt that my parents moved on just like that, that my grandmother died, and with all these people not even noticing. Even my closest friends can't see it. And that sucks. But I still keep up the role of being my preppy "normal self".

"Ok mom love you!"I said back to her.

Love you to! Now go you don't want to be late." She said as I walked out of the house.

I don't tell anyone because why tell them if they won't care anyways? I don't want pity, that's not what I want at all. I want someone to care, and so far I know that if I tell someone nobody will go through the trouble to care.

When I get to school, the first person I see is Melissa, I say hi to her and make my way to class because I don't want to talk this morning.

She simply gives me a funny look but thankfully doesn't say anything. While I'm walking I am suddenly pinned to the wall by two large hands.

"where are you going so early?" Says a familiar British accent.

Harry.

Harry is the school's bad boy, a guy I did not want to be around. He smokes, party's, and has a different girl every week. Typical bad boy, I know.

"Get away from me Harry." I said with lots of confidence. Let's just say I wasn't afraid of him.

"I need to tal-" but he was cut off by jade, my friend coming in.

"Hey me and Anna need to talk so back the fuck off of her creep." Jade said.

Jade and Harry hooked up once but it
was nothing, just a little fling so we thought nothing of it. But Harry just looked at her and scoffed while walking away.

"Thanks Jade,let's go to first period." Me has had first period together by the way.

"Ok!" If only she new how it really was.
