Y/N pov
I was excited to be leaving this place today. Colin was taking me ring shopping since I needed a ring for Lizzie. I know I proposed and she already said yes, but I want to get her a ring. I want her to be able to show it off. Be excited for her own wedding. The wedding of her dreams.
"Are you ready?" Colin asked as he came in with a wheelchair.
"I can walk you know." I told him as he smirked.
"Hospital policy." He told me. "You should know, you enforce it quite a lot with your own patients." He spoke teasingly.
"Well, I never thought I would be one of them." I told him as I shuffled into the chair. "Where's Lizzie?" I asked him as I held my bag on my lap.
"She is with Scarlett." He informed me. "Having a spa day."
"Lizzie needs it." I told him.
"I know. She was here pretty much all of the time unless Scarlett dragged her home for a shower and sleep when I stayed with you." He told me.
"I am the luckiest man alive." I told him as he agreed with me. "So are you taking me to the jewellers?" I asked him.
"Of course. I am your best man after all." He smirked making me laugh.
"Who said you were?" I teased him.
"We are practically brothers. Airgo, I am your best man." He told me.
"I wouldn't want anyone else." I told him honestly. He helped me into his car before he took the wheelchair back. I waited nervously for him to return. Small flashes of that night coming back.
"Are you ok?" He asked me once he got in.
"Yeah." I whispered as I opened my eyes. My breathing level as he watched me carefully. I could tell that he knew otherwise but I was thankful that he didn't press on about it. "So, are we going to Jameson's?" I asked him. I had always wanted to go to Jameson's, especially since they specialise in vintage jewellery.
"Of course." He told me as he concentrated on the road ahead as he drove. "I'm so proud of you." He told me as he stopped at a red light. "I never thought you would get married let alone fall in love."
"Me neither." I told him honestly. "But with Lizzie, I finally have a purpose. I finally know why I am here on this earth."
"Do you see a future with her?" He asked me. "With kids and everything."
"I do. I see it all with her. Growing old and everything." I told him honestly. "She is the one that I wasn't looking for but was always near all along."
Lizzie's pov
Colin was picking Y/N up from the hospital today while Scarlett decided to drag me out with her for a spa day.
"This is nice isn't it?" She whispered as she was getting a massage right beside me.
"I'm worried about Y/N." I blurted out as she rolled her eyes at me.
"Y/N is fine. He is with Colin." She told me. "You know if we didn't bag them up, I think they would have gotten married themselves." She said making me laugh.
"You're right." I smiled as I sighed. "They did already act like an old married couple anyway."
"They did." She agreed. "But your marrying one."
"And you're dating the other." I shot back as she nodded.
"Just a couple of messes aren't we?" She asked and I nodded in agreement. I was in heaven with the relaxation I felt. This was indeed something that I had truly needed.
As the day went on, I couldn't wait to go home. I had truly missed Y/N even though I had the most relaxing day.
"Do you want to have a drink?" I asked Scarlett as she drove me home.
"I would love that." She told me with a smirk. The journey didn't take too long. As soon as she pulled up outside my home, I quickly got out and made my way inside. Not realising that Scarlett was walking just as fast for a completely different reason.
"Y/N?" I gasped when I saw him down on one knee. A velvet box in his hand.
"I wanted to do this right. I know you already said yes but you deserve this. You deserve to be showered with love for the rest of your life and I intend to be the one to do just that." He started making me smile. "You made me believe in love Elizabeth. You were the one who made me fall. Your eyes are the most beautiful thing in this whole universe. You are my universe. So will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" He opened the box but my eyes never left his.
"Yes." I told him softly. "A million times yes." I walked to him and helped him stand. Smiling as he slid the ring on my finger before kissing me lovingly.
"I can't wait to spend my life with you." He whispered as I pulled him back in. Both Colin and Scarlett cheering behind us.
