Summer is over, the school year has started, I am far away from Lake Marsha at Penn State. I'm free from hell. Natalie is my roommate at least, a familiar face is always nice to see when terrified of the dark lurking around every corner.

Backpacks are being sold out in the stores, leaves are turning to red and orange, other plants have begun to decay. The start of autumn is always lovely, peaceful. The ending is the worst, it's a cold, white death.

Me and Natalie never really dug deep into the things that happened over summer, we pushed the traumatic memories to the far, far back of our heads, into the dark pit of despair back there. We just wanted to do good in school and pay attention in our classes. Maybe go home for break, occasionally remember everything distinctly and visit Sarah and Tanya in the seemingly always numbingly cold graveyard. Spritzing their favourite perfumes around their headstones that read Here Lie Sarah Thompson and Tanya Marshall, (1995-2013) (1996-2013) Friends, daughters, loved by all. We missed them more than anything. They were truly amazing people to know.

Tanya's birthday was next week. She would've been 18. An independent adult. The sun sets quicker each night that goes by since we left, it feels like there's only two seconds in a day now.

Christmas break starts tomorrow, I'm going home. To see my family and hope this never happens again. The flight home is tonight so I have to leave after classes today. Good thing I packed my bags three days ago huh? Natalie and I hug goodbye, tell each other to be safe and I'm off. I got to the airport just forty six minutes before my flight boards.

After grabbing a snack and a bathroom break, it's time to go so I can see my family. The safety instructions are the same as usual. So is the food, cold and moist. A flight attendant hands me a piece of paper that she said was from a man earlier that day for specifically me. I had wondered why they asked everyone for ID when boarding. I open the wrinkled paper, curious to see what it says. "What did I say about no cops Ashley. Big mistake.."  When I look up I see someone in a flight attendant uniform, next to a panel of some sort with pliers in his hand. We make eye contact for a solid five seconds. At that moment I knew who it was, he killed my friends, and I was next. He winked and smirked eerily.

He sneakily cut the wires in the panel. Black. All I see is black. The plane is dark, plummeting down to doom. I knew this was it for me. In the next few minutes, I would be his next official victim. The plane crashed but everyone survived, it was pitch black outside, it was four in the morning, yet it looked like midnight. At the night's darkest moment.

A person grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to a far away tree. I kicked and screamed, and begged to live. Next thing I know I feel a dagger pierce through my skull.. In my last four seconds of living, I relived every moment of my life. Every millisecond. Even the bad stuff. I took my last breath and I was gone. With Sarah and Tanya...
