Paris

"Where the fuck is she?" I questioned Veo as he stood outside the front door, my blood simmering.

He sighed. "She went inside. I couldn't stop her, sir."

"Where inside?" I said.

"I don't know," he said, looking toward the wall. "I'm not allowed in unless I go past the security desk, and even then, I have no parental connection to her, so they wouldn't let me further in the school."

I sighed, running a hand down my face. "Well, technically I'm a student, so I'm going in. Stay out here," I ordered him, "and make sure no one suspicious comes in, got it?"

"Yes, sir," he stated. "But wait."

I cast a look at him.

"She said..." Veo stated, "to tell you that she got the hint."

I gave him a bored look. "I heard, and she has the wrong idea."

"Paris," he stated before I could go inside, and I gazed back at him, eyes burning with anger, "sir..." he corrected, "um. I'm worried that she—"

"I know," I stated, "so let me going fucking inside so I can make sure she doesn't."

He nodded then, stepping back, and I went inside, searching the lobby for her.

But my eyes narrowed when they settled on Ryan.

I walked calmly up to him, seeing him sitting lazily on the lobby floor, one leg kicked up as he stared down at his cellphone, swiping through his shorts or whatever.

I stopped in front of him, and he glanced up at me, rolling his eyes before staring down at his phone.

"Where is she?" I questioned.

He gazed up. "Huh?"

"Where is she?" I repeated.

"Who the fuck is 'she?'"

Oh, that's right. He didn't know me, did he?

"Riley," I responded then, "Riley Princes. Where is she?"

Ryan put his phone down and gazed up at me fully now. "Why do you want to know?"

I pierced my eyes into his. "My guard heard you and her talking."

"Your guard?" he echoed, laughing. "Who are you? Christian Grey?"

I stared down at him. "You told her out of nowhere not do to 'it' and that it wasn't worth it."

His eyes darkened.

"Want to tell me what it was?" I prompted.

Ryan rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall. "Who are you to her anyway? Why should you even care, bro?"

"I care about her," I stated. "I do. So tell me where the fuck she is so I make sure she doesn't kill herself, Ryan."

"Woah, there," Ryan said, throwing his hands up. "Who said anything about death?"

"Ryan," I hissed, "you told her not to kill herself and then left her alone. Do you know how stupid that is? If you really don't want your best friend to die, then tell me where she is."

He sighed and gazed up at me. "She usually wants to be left alone," he stated, making my teeth clench before he added, "but during that time, she usually goes to the library."

I unclenched my teeth. "Thank you."

And I walked off without another word.

I basically darted down the hall and ran up the stairs at the end, going to the top floor and spinning around until I met the double doors of the library.
