In which a vigilante has to find the killer of her bosses and the only people she can trust are two Detectives and an Assistant District Attorney. All of this while helping the butler, Alfred Pennyworth, take care of young Bruce Wayne.

One month after the attempt on Falcone's life, things had changed in Gotham. Fish was dead and the Penguin was running the underworld. Things at the GCPD had changed as well. Unfortunately, Loeb was still in charge and forced Jim and Bullock to car traffic duty. Bullock had refused and retired from the force. Now he was the owner of his own bar.
Many things had changed for Lilith too. She had moved into Harvey's apartment and got a vehicle to use as the Red Demon. The vigilante had gone through a few changes herself.
And one of the best news was that Harvey Dent was the newly elected District Attorney of Gotham City.
Lilith woke up next to Harvey like she had been doing every day for the last month. It was early. Almost 6 am. The sun would be rising soon. It was still too early for her or Harvey to go to work, but Lilith needed to do something else before going to Wayne Enterprises.
She planted a soft kiss on Harvey's forehead. He seemed to be sleeping peacefully unlike some nights when he would woke up gasping from a nightmare or those when he didn't sleep at all. His nightmares were more frequent after he found out his assistant had been working for Maroni. The GCPD found his body a couple of days later. He had been stabbed twice in the back. Everyone presumed Fish's people had killed him as an act of revenge against Maroni's people. Lilith agreed.
She left, being careful not to wake up Harvey, and went to her old apartment. After placing her handbag on the couch, she entered the locked room. She walked directly to the display on the opposite side of the door. After placing her outstretched palm over the panel beside the display, a green light flashed on it as well as the words 'Identity confirmed'. Then the display moved in a half circle to reveal the new and improved Red Demon suit.
It didn't seem like it when you looked, but underneath the suit, there was a layer of kevlar as well as five layers of nomex. The latter was used in case of a fire emergency. Lilith was proud of her creation. The mask still covered her mouth and nose, but instead of red, it was black with a red lining on the edge. The only red was the clothes underneath, covered on the front by black leather. Her gloves reached above her elbows and also had a layer of kevlar and another of nomex.
