"Son, are you sure you have everything!? " Randy said, hunting Stan's room for incase he left any needed school supplies. It was Stan's senior year, the biggest thing for him, and Randy, his father, was so proud of him. His mother had left a while back, leaving Randy to raise the kids by himself, but that's a story for another day, yah?
"Dad, I'm fine, I have everything!" Stan says, his voice sounding deep and showing obvious annoyance. Stan didn't like Randy, not at all, and he absolutely hated being called a spinning image of his father. He felt as if his father drinking alcohol to solve when he was upset was fucking stupid, along with his weird addiction to weed. If it wasn't one thing, it was the other.
"Even the lil' dino pen? " Randy asks, his voice sounding slightly childish.
"Yes, Dad. Even the little dinosaur pen." Stan says, sighing as he shoves his way past Randy and out the door. Most of his life, he had always been a bit harsh when it came to his dad. It wasn't like Randy ever hurt him either, and if I'm being honest, Randy was a complete sweetheart! He was a bit dim-witted, however.
Stan made his way to the deli in front of school, not going in. He'll eat during his lunch period anyways, so why waste money on breakfast? He stood outside, knowing damn fucking well Kyle would be in there. Kyle would always buy breakfast before school, and every time, he'd buy 2 capri suns, a grape one for Stan and a Fruit punch one for himself. According to Kyle, nothing is cuter than drinking a capri sun with a good outfit, which Stan thought was pretty stupid.
After what seems like forever, Kyle walks out of the Deli, holding his sandwich in one hand and a capri sun in the other.
Called it.
"Stan! Oh my goodness, I wasn't expecting you to show up! I didn't get your juice, you want mine?" He asked, offering his capri sun to Stan. Kyle was always the guy to offer up his stuff if he felt bad or if he felt the need he had to. But Stan always declined Kyle's offers. It wasn't because he hated him, he just never wanted anything.
"Nah dude, I'll be fine, I'll wait till lunch."
"Dude! Take the juiiceee, I promise I didn't drink any!"
"Kyle, I don't want it."
"You sure? You seem upset now.. I'm sorry!"
"Ugh! Your fine man! My dad annoyed me this morning, so I'm just a bit pissed off, don't worry about it, okay?"
Kyle sighed, and gestured for Stan to walk ahead of him. "Then lets go to school, shall we?" He says, smiling widely.
Stan shrugged and nodded, putting his hands in his pockets and starting to walk. As Stan walked ahead of him, Kyle opened his schoolbag, the sound of the zipper inaudible due to the amount of loud kids talking, and slid the juice in there, quickly closing it before Stan would notice. "Soooo, Stan, what did you oh so terrible father do this time? Tell you he loved you?" Kyle asked, moving next to Stan and still walking.
Stan shook his head. "He made a whole big thing to make sure I had all my school stuff. He literally looked under my bed for fucks sake!"
"Stan, you really don't know what love and caring for someone is, do you?" Kyle asked, rolling his eyes, a bit annoyed with Stan now. Kyle absolutely LOVED Stan's father, he would always give him cute lil pens, tiny notebooks, and he'd always try to go out of his way (and out of budget) for birthdays. Yeah okay, the man was extremely childish, and dim-witted, and a bit of an alcoholic.. but he loved his kids, dearly. And to Randy, Kyle was one of his kids.
"Kyle, he could give less of a shit about anybody. He's an alcoholic. If anything, he's just being the way he is because he want's us to believe he loves us so if he commits a crime, we'd cover up. Thanks but no thanks."
"Stan."
"Kyle."
"You have no right to talk about your father like that" Kyle said, looking down in disappointment.
"Whatever, wanna come over later?"
"Sure."
Ah yes, bankruptcy at its finest...
