Darkness In The Light

Chapter 1

The day starts just like any other normal day but there was something strange about the air that seemed more intense...
My mother and I were down by the ocean side waiting to watch the sunrise but the sun never rose. It was really dark outside we couldn't see anything but our feet then as we were walking home we heard a strange noise coming from the darkness it wasn't like anything we have heard before it was a growling grown like something was in distress but we kept heading home when we arrived home we heard a  strange noise coming from the basement so mom and I went to check it out as we were walking down the staircase that lead to the basement my mom froze in fear so I yelled MOM!!! But no response as I tried to pull her arm. something in the darkness started running at us I couldn't see exactly what it was but I knew I had to run but I couldn't run without my mom. I picked her up and started running back up the staircase I didn't know if I was going to make it up the staircase the strange thing that was in the darkness had grabbed my mom from my arms. I just kept running after that there was a moment of silence I had a feeling that she was gone like the thing in the darkness had killed her
