Chapter 1 - Unknown Variable

"It seems our little variable has become a quite significant one", Lais holds back a laugh as he stares at the aftermath of Darius's attack on Alpha City.

Mastermind shakes his head, "What can one expect from a beast? All muscle and no brain".

Curare looks on uninterested by the whole ordeal as she looks at her nails, "If my Shadowblade isn't there then there's no point in caring about this incident".

Lais pops his neck, "Shouldn't this be Grindor's concern? We have more pressing matters to attend to such as Viper's proposition". I look at him and somewhat agree with him, we do have the business in Dune Fortress with our new business partner. Viper has been making excellent progress in holding back Shadowblade as we plan our counterattack, preparations are coming together nicely but, there's the whole story regarding the newly resurfaced "Knight of Storms" and the whole "Uriel's latest reincarnation". They started as stories but what I saw was more than a story, there is a genuine threat that I should address.

I look at the Syndicate members, "Indeed but, we must always plan for any potential setbacks that this 'hero' could bring us".

Mastermind smirks and speaks up, "Well from what our spies gathered...ACPD and the Phantom Strikers are breathing down his back right now. I think perhaps...we should leave them to fight amongst each other while we continue to operate in the shadows".

Curare looks on, "Yeah sure whatever, let's go with his plan".

Lais smirks, "It does sound rather interesting to see Alpha City tear itself apart".

I stand up, "Very well, to make sure things proceed as scheduled, I'll be sending one of our Trinity candidates". A teenage boy walks out from the pillar and walks up beside me, he takes a small bow and stands in attention, I point at him, "This is Akira. Python Air Temple Prodigy and one of the candidates to take Elite Trinity's rank to put it simply, he can take care of himself and sow the seeds of discord among the ACPD". Everyone nods and gets up, "If that's all, meeting is adjourned".

Everyone walks out of the room leaving only Akira and I to talk, he looks at me, "It's an honor to be considered for this mission".

I nod, "Think of this mission as your final test to demonstrate your worthiness of being the new Elite Trinity. This means that failure is not an option". Akira nods, I look on with pride, "Very well, now go check in with Mastermind. He'll give you all the information necessary so you can operate with the upmost efficiency". Akira walks out the door as I look outside the glass window, "Soon, all threats to my reign shall be destroyed and I'll rule over the new world that I have envisioned".

The war council sits, there are two empty seats at the table, "As you can see, Darius is the latest victim of the terrorist who attacked our home. His bravery will not be forgotten and he will be honored greatly".

The members of the war council howl and bang on the table, all chanting, "DARIUS! DARIUS! DARIUS!"

I raise my hand in the air, "Now we must plan our next move, we've grown large enough that we no longer require the Syndicate's help".

A Hawk Warrior gets up, "We should declare war on Alpha City!"

A couple of members chant in agreement, I put my hand in the air again, "My friends we must not let anger lead us to making hasty decisions. We must let reason lead our decisions today".

The war council calm down and look towards the next member, a white polar bear warrior gets up, "I saw we focus on stamping out the remaining rebels in our territory before focusing on this new terrorist".
