Khalani Scott
I was sweating, I don't think I've ever been around someone so hot.
I can't really say I'm talking to him though, since I'm pretty sure I'm a blushing mess.
"Uh, hi, I'm Khalani," I introduced myself giving him a little wave.
He just nodded in my direction, not fully acknowledging me.
Rude much.
"Okay," I whispered to myself.
"Well, Anna, If you're sure you are okay, I should get going, I'll come back in a couple of hours to help out." I smiled at her as I bid goodbye.
I walked out the doors of the cafe, frustrated about why I thought that guy would've been nice.
He wasn't.
Unless, maybe he's shy.
I doubt that though, he's probably everything but shy.
I heard someone walking closely behind me, but I didn't think much of it since I'm on a busy street in New York City, until I felt someone tap me on my shoulder.
I turned around to see who it was, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else," he said to me.
I laughed awkwardly "It's okay, have a nice day," I said to him as I turned around to continue walking.
Why is it the absolute awkwardest thing when someone thinks you're someone they know?
I walked into my apartment building, walking over to my mail locker, to see if anything had been delivered.
I locked the locker back up after getting out all my mail, searching through the pile while walking up the stairs to my apartment.
This place needs a major upgrade.
And by an upgrade, I mean an elevator.
After finally reaching my door, I unlock it, entering my apartment. Once I got inside I throw the mail onto the table, seeing as it was mostly junk anyways.
Taking off my shoes before walking into the apartment any further; that habit has never left me, it must've been after getting yelled at constantly whenever I did enter the house with shoes on.
On my way over to the living area, I decided to make a little stop at the cupboard to get a glass and a bottle of wine.
I need one after the shitty morning I had.
I didn't even realize how long I had been sitting here and drinking until I got a message on my phone and saw the time.
I've been sitting here for two hours. Fuck.
Anna had texted me asking if I was still coming in or not and I replied, telling her I'll be there shortly.
Time to put the bottle back and finish this glass.
After finishing my wine, I placed the glass down on the table and left the bottle next to it, before grabbing my keys and phone and leaving my apartment.
The one thing about New York City is that it's one of the worst places to drive. There's too much traffic, angry drivers, and people wanting to cross the street whenever they feel like it, that's why I liked to walk everywhere.
Even though the sidewalks are always crowded with people, there's always rubbish, and it doesn't smell that great. It's my home away from home though.
Finally, I reached the cafe and walked into the kitchen grabbing an apron and putting it on.
