"You're not a monster, Chuuya," Dazai said for at least the thousandth time.
The two partners in crime were on the top of a cliff, from where could be seen the moon and the stars' reflexion in the sea. Chuuya was perched on a tree limb, his gaze lost in the night. Dazai was sitting in the grass, under the tree, his head againts its trunk.
The gravity manipulator sighed to answer his interlocutor. What was he supposed to say anyway ? That Dazai was wrong ? Yes. Definitely. But he already did a douzains time and was tired of trying to prove to the young  mafian's captain that he wasn't human. How could the black haired boy still say such a lie ? After what happened less than twenty four hours ago, Chuuya just couldn't believe his partner. Not this time.
Last night, him and Dazai had destroyed an organisation and its whole home base. That was an outcome in the actual conflict, Mori was proud of them and people would probably start to respect, or fear, them. Those little things should make them both proud and happy. And Dazai surely was. But Chuuya couldn't. Because yesterday, for the first time, he used the Corruption. His ability's true form, Arahabaki himself in a human body, to make everyone believe that it was human. But Arahabaki had nothing of a human at all. It was a monster, that Chuuya let out like it was nothing, to destroy everything. And he enjoyed it ! And this fact was precisely what was making him sick. Letting out Arahabaki, knowing Dazai would stop him, turned out to be one of the most satisfying thing he ever did.
When the little mobster finally explained this to his partner, along with the feeling of disgust that these thoughts sent back to him, the captain told him he was crazy to think he could be a monster. And here they were, arguing about what Chuuya was. Well, "arguing" was a big word. Right now Dazai was the only one who was talking, since his little partner gave up the idea of convicing him he was wrong.

"Chuuya ?" Dazai's voice took the called away from his thoughts. "Are you even listening to me ?" he said with despair.

The smaller one choose to be honest. "No."

"Would you like to come down with me ?" Dazai asked, with a childish voice, after a deep sigh.

"Is that a real question ?" Chuuya replied. "Or just a nice way to give me an order ?"

His partner seemed to think a bit, before simply sighing again : "Both."

For the first time since the beginning of their conversation, the gravity manipulator looked down to Dazai. His comrade was serious, as he had been for the whole discussion, but there was like a strange crack in his voice. Like he was begging the ginger. And that was what caught Chuuya's attention. But when he saw Dazai's face, it was emotionless. Arahabaki's receptacle sighed and swung backwards. He found himself upside down, hanging from the limb, facing his partner. They looked into each other eyes for a few seconds and the only thing which was disturbing the silent, were the waves.
Dazai was drowning in Chuuya's ocean blue eyes, and he could've done it eternally, if he wasn't busy trying to convince his partner that he was perfectly human. Dazai, still looking at Chuuya, carried his arrogant smile and invited his "slug" , with an exaggerated mouvement of his hand, to take place in front of him. Chuuya sighed again, but he executed himself anyway.

"So, are you going to listen to me now ?" Dazai said once his partner had sat down in front of him. Chuuya held back an other sigh and looked down.

"Let me guess," he answered. "You're going to tell me that I am not a monster, that I am as human as you are, and-"

"OK, stooooopu !" the captain interrupted, putting his hand up. He waited for Chuuya's gaze to meet his, and continued. "For the first one, you're right: you are not a monster. But your second point isn't correct."

When Dazai noticed a bit of confusion in his partner's blue eyes, he couldn't help but giggle.

"I'm not really what you could call human," he said. "And you perfectly know that."
