The harder she ran the more her heart beat faster and faster.
'Come on legs!! Faster! Faster!'
Wednesday screamed in her mind as she came full speed down the hill in ripped clothes trying desperately to keep up with her werewolf girlfriend.
It was a full moon tonight, she and Enid thought it to be a beautiful night.
And Wednesday wanted to do something nice for her girlfriend seeing as a lycan would love a midnight outing.
'It's way past our bedtime.'
She thought as she came to a slowed struggled stop coming down the hill.
She smiled softly to herself as she held onto a tree to catch her breath.
Enid had to beg the Lycan district to grant Wednesday a pass to go on an outing tonight, as long as Enid takes full responsibility for Wednesday and anything that happens to her would be on Enid. The wolves were out tonight, out and running about everywhere you looked.
Wednesday caught sight of three of them jumping over her and running off. She couldn't wrap her head around how they had such endurance and strength it was quite fascinating.
She looked around for her girlfriend not having seen her as she tries to catch her breath. The sky is open wide and the trees are rustling and there's nowhere to hide, only thing to do is run and be what you are.
Wednesday looked around and took a deep breath and focused, trying her best to at least understand a bit what Enid is going through right now.
Werewolves kind of communicate through telepathy, it's a mind thing. Not something Wednesday could fully understand either. She sighed in frustration feeling small. Her girlfriend was everything and more to her, she was her sun, her light, her rainy days, her dark days, her night, her moon, the soft sounds of a wave colliding with the shore, she was more than just her girlfriend too. She was her entire world, and she was scared of that feeling. She had never loved someone so dearly and closely before, she couldnt afford to lose her.
But Wednesday didn't really have a cool attribute like her counterpart.
She couldn't wolf out or suck blood and turn people to stone, she wasn't able to sooth people with a siren song or even shapeshift.
She was just Wednesday, she could see visions and that was mostly it.
So what made her so special??
What made Enid want her and not a proper mate that could run endlessly with her. She's trying her best for her girlfriend, her legs were sore and she was a little dirty with leaves here and there. Her hair is a little crazy but she guessed you had to be a little crazy to do these sorts of things.
She sucked in a sharp breath before pushing herself off the tree, she started running. Running as fast as she could through the trees.
She was gasping for air deep down but she kept pushing until she found her. She wanted to prove herself capable to Enid, that she too could keep up.
Every log and every hole and rock she passes and jumps over, the branches nicking her just a bit as her feet kicked up the dirt. The rocks flying past her grazing her cheek only causing a small cut, she could feel everything around her as she steadied her breathing. Trying to be more than she is, wanting to feel like she's part of it too. Nevermore had quite a big lawn and backyard so the more she ran the more she felt like this place really was endless.
A million thoughts went through her mind, really wanting to know where Enid was.
She abruptly stopped almost crumbling to her knees. Gasping for air she dug her fingers deep into the ground below her feeling the grass and dirt, she didn't care if she got dirty at this point she'd already been through that long ago.
She closed her eyes listening a d focusing every other sense she had.
She could feel the vibrations of the wolves running through the woods and she could hear them howling, a sort of primal feeling almost.
She breathed deep eventually standing up and propping herself against a tree. She wiped the sweat and blood off her face taking a look around. She felt a chill run through her, as if something was watching her closely. She turned around as if it was instinct to look at the surroundings opposite to her.
She looked frantically until her eyes met cool blue waters. Staring back at her from the trees.
Her breath hitched in her throat as if a lump formed. Her hand still in contact with the tree.
They stood watching each other for a good 30 seconds before Wednesday called out to her.
"ENID!!!"
The desperation leaked from her voice and dropped like a cry in the night, a cry for someone a person wouldn't even know if they're listening or not. She didn't care if she couldn't hear her, she was reaching out. A tear formed in her eye and she finally let out a breath she didn't even realize she was holding.
She pushed herself from the tree again, running for her girlfriend.
Running as fast as she could.
The huge wolf stood before her, rough and ragged but she knew. She knew when she looked into her gentle eyes those were Enids.
She stood a mere foot away from her as the wolf towered over her letting out a huff. She lowered her head looking at Wednesday and whining as she saw the small cut on her face. Watching the blood trickle down her soft features made Enid scream internally. Wednesday looked messy, her bangs all crazy and leaves and dirt had adorned her hands and her knees were scratched up. She looked more feral than Enid did.
She smiled softly at Enid, taking her hand to the side of the wolf's face. Petting her gently and playing with her hair. Her mind echoed with a call for more.
She removed her hand leaving her girlfriend confused.
The wolf let out a confused gruff, she wasn't sure what Wednesday was up to.
She walked a few feet away and started running at Enid. Enid was now standing and tilting her head as her tint girlfriend came bounding towards her. She was honestly impressed she was still going.
Wednesday had a look of determination on her face as she ran up and jumped to her girlfriend.
Enid had been caught off guard but let it happen anyways. She has to stay aware that she was much bigger than Wednesday. She felt the girl situate herself on the back of her body.
She let out a huge breath as she grabbed hold of Enids head, petting and stroking her softly. She bent down saying something to her.
"Don't let me slow you down, cara mia."
Enids heart was set ablaze. A small flame turned into a forest fire.
She turned on her back legs and started running as fast as she could hoping Wednesday could hold on for her.
Wednesday would never tell but the speed was amazing and her agility was impressive. She was actually smiling. Her heart was beating and the wind was flowing through her hair as Enid ran. She ran as fast as her wolf form would let her. She began back tracking as she caught the scent and path Wednesday ran before. Running the same path her lover had did previously. She could see the tracks she left as she put one paw after another in each track. She ran and ran through the trees as Wednesday gave the occasional praise she wouldn't often hear, it was really nice. It gave her encouragement.
As she ran she branched off to go down another path as she then met the top of a hill.
Wednesday obviously thinking this was it she was about to get off until Enid decided it wasn't over and made a weird noise of protest and jumped from the top of the hill.
It was Wednesdays turn to be caught off guard.
"what are yo- ENID!!"
she grabbed on as best she could desperately trying not to fall as she buried her head into the nape of Enids neck. Scared. But Enid reminded her she was okay and safe, so she looked up as they came closer to the ground. The wind was violent and her hair was flowing behind her as she looked around. She could see over the top of the trees. It was a sickeningly beautiful night.
She did something out of character.
She shouted.
"WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
Enid grumbled in confusion but partially it was wolf chitter, she was laughing.
As her paws met the ground she joined in with her girlfriend while running her full speed.
"AAARRWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
It tore through the air and intimidated Wednesday.
Her voice was so loud it was like a sudden boom of sound.
It filled every single one of Wednesdays senses filling her with a sensation she couldn't describe.
Enid continued running as she started tiring, struggling up another hill.
Wednesday noticed this as she pet her softly. She wanted to speak but her words got caught everytime. Eventually Enid drug them to the top, there was a small clearing and she begrudgingly trotted over to a lone standing tree as she sat down giving Wednesday a surprise as she slid down her girlfriends back.
She groaned in response.
"You're not funny." She said to Enid.
The wolf just sat there, she eventually flopped over atop her girlfriend.
"E-Enid!! You oversized dog you're too big for all this!!!"
She struggled against her but Enid continued to annoy her girlfriend as she kept huffing ang puffing, Wednesday really was more of a big bad wolf than Enid was.
"Enid I swear to all that may be holy I will kill you."
Her girlfriend left empty threats as she broke free and stood over away from Enid catching her breath.
This sparked something in Enid.
Call it instinct but she jumped up and got low. The universal dog language of play. Wednesday raised a brow having no idea was this means.
"I don't understand dog, you know this."
Enid just tilted her head.
Her girlfriend sighed.
"Ugh, and you can't understand human right now can you??? Irene what are we even doing??? Hhrmm.."
She spoke becoming frustrated.
Truth is Enid understood every word she spoke crystal clear.
Wednesday just stood there staring at her girlfriend.
Watching as Enid gave those unforgiving puppy dog eyes.
"Stoppp. Enid, quit it."
....
"Enid I'm warning you!"
She tilted her head.
And the raven caved. She rolled her eyes as she accepted whatever was to come next.
Enid hummed a low gruff happy with her actions.
"Whatever you get what you want."
Wednesday spoke as she crossed her arms and looked off to the side.
Enid came closer poking her with her snout, trying her best to cheer her girlfriend up.
"E-Enid quit that's not funny! AHH-"
Enid pinned her to the ground and laid her head on her torso while tilting her head and whining. Wednesday just rolled her eyes and sighed. "You know I love you...even though you can't understand it quite yet I love you. Enough to look stupid on a full moon." She spoke barely above a whisper but Enid heard every word she spoke.
She softly stroked her fur as she looked up at the stars. She felt Enids breathing calm.
"I know I don't say it often, but it's because I'm scared. I've never loved anything that wasn't to serve my own pleasures. I haven't loved something I didn't know the outcome of and it's quite terrifying not knowing if you truly love me the way I adore you cara mia. I love the feeling of adrenaline and being in danger. But this is a different kind of terrifying. A terrifying that makes my every being nervous to the core. I want to be everything you need and more. Even if it means I have to bleed for you to see that...I love you Enid Sinclair and it's scary because I don't allow emotions but with you I can't restrain myself no matter how hard I try. I hope you love me just as much...even though I'm cold."
She was rambling on and on, she was distracted with confessing her inner feelings to a wolf that could actually understand her the whole time.
I guess she didn't notice the weight change as Enid was now shifted back laying on her. She was stroking her hair at that point.
There was a bit of silence.
"You know, I'm a bit cold too."
Enid snickered out as she lifted her head suspending herself over her girlfriend. Wednesday hadn't noticed her lover was legitimately naked and shivering in the cold.
Her heart stopped as she looked at Enids face under the moonlight.
She faltered.
"L-let me fix that."
She unzipped her hoodie and put it around Enid as she looked away respectfully. She was a bit embarrassed and didn't know Enid understood her every word.
She furrowed her brows trying not to look weak once again. But a hand met her face. Enid turned her head towards her. Wednesdays breath hitched in the back of her throat as her lips parted to say something but the words got caught in her throat.
Her thumb grazed over the small cut on her face. As she looked deeply into Wednesdays eyes.
"You're enough, my love."
Wednesday couldn't think.
"I'd choose you over an ordinary life, I'd chose you over a normal mate or even natures stupid laws. I'd rather run with you over anybody else."
She smiled brightly at her.
Wednesday didn't know it but a tear formed once again. And she blurted something out.
"I-I love you, Enid Sinclair."
Enids eyes went wide and before she could say anything the dark haired girl spoke once more.
"Enid I love you! More than anything I p-promise and only you can see this.."
She desperately spoke with a shaky voice. God she was trembling beneath Enid.
"I finally caught you."
Enid spoke.
"A wolf and a raven."
She laughed as she teared up, hand still against the smaller girls face.
Wednesday brought her hand up to clasp it around Enids.
And she spoke a familiar line.
"We work, we shouldn't but we do."
She spoke softly, she rubbed her thumb over her girlfriends fingers.
Enid laughed through her tears.
"Hey that's my line, but no seriously I don't care what nature intended for me. I-I would rather have you over anything else."
Wednesday smiled but just barely.
And then Enid did something again, it caught the dark haired girl off guard.
"I love you too, Wednesday Addams."
Her heart was running with the wolves tonight. It was beating fast and hard against her ribcage as if it was trying to escape.
There was no more words to be spoken.
She wrapped her arms around the back of Enids neck and pulled her in.
They locked eyes for a moment.
"Wednesday.."
Enid spoke the most gentle and soft she ever had before, Wednesday hadn't heard that tone before.
"Don't draga mea.."
She spoke quietly and smoothly before she closed the gap no longer able to restrain herself. She yearned for her touch and her warmth. Her world was so cold and harsh without her.
Her lips were soft and inviting. She could drown in this.
Enids brain was in a frenzy.
Wednesdays lips were so intoxicating each kiss pulled her in more and more each time.
Their lips danced across one another just as the stars above them danced through the sky.
It was a beautiful moment neither one of them wanted it to end.
Eventually they did part from one another struggling for air.
"T-that was amazing, c-can we do that again??"
Enid questioned desperately as she was breathing shakily.
Wednesday was blushing a deep shade of red.
She couldn't get out any words.
"Mh..mhm."
She hummed a tune in satisfactory.
As Enid stared at her she eventually got something out.
"W-we should go it's getting late, about three hours past midnight.."
She stuttered out.
Enid shook her head agreeing.
"I am sort of cold...and naked, you know exposed to the eleme-"
"Yes, yes Enid I know."
Her girlfriend smiled.
She removed herself from Wednesday and lent her a hand to help her up.
Which Wednesday hesitated to take.
Her pride still shined amongst other things.
"Shall we be off?"
The raven questioned.
Her girlfriend giggled.
"I think we shall."
The werewolf replied.
And with that they began the horrible walk back to nevermore.
Seriously how far did they run???
