09 : vanilla scent

Jaeyun woke up with a familiar scents coming from the bathroom. He yawned as his brain tried to process where is he right now. His eyes looking around the unfamiliar bed room.

Then, his eyes saw a medium size potrait on a shelf and a familiar face. When his brain already recognized where is he now, he could feels a warm sensation on his cheeks. Jaeyun started to flustered.

I'm still in her room, on her bed.

Jaeyun shook his head as he started to imagine things. Now, he needs to stay calm and act like nothing happened but his brain kept repeating last night's scenario.

“If I kiss you, will it ruin our friendship?”

Did I really ask her that?

I even have an attempted to kiss her?

At that time, the bathroom door was opened and Hyejin stepped out with her body wrapped with bathrobe. The sweet scent of vanilla swirling around his nose make him take a deep breath.

Gosh, her scent!

“Good morning, Jaeyun!” she greeted him with a bright smile.

“Goof morning, Hyejin. Are you not going to work today? It's still work day.” he answered and get off the bed real quick.

“I'm taking day off for two days and since you are here so I just need your permission. Please, admit the file I sent to you yesterday.”

Hyejin pulled his hand towards a table with a laptop already on. Jaeyun just need to type his email and password to receive the file Hyejin sent. She gave him a sweet innocent smile.

Two days not going to office Jaeyun didn't held his phone so he don't know if someone call me or text him. He just follow what Hyejin wanted and quickly admit her off day.

“Thank you, Mr Jake!”

“Hyejin, if I heard—”

“Go take a shower real quick! I will prepare the clothes and our breakfast. Moving fast Mr Jake!” she patted his head before went into her closet to wear her clothes.

Jaeyun was flabbergasted by her actions. But he still take a shower as what Hyejin asked. After done showering, he wore the clothes that Hyejin already prepared.

Where did she got all of these?

There's no way her dad wear this kind of clothes?

But he still wear it and went to the kitchen. Hyejin cooked something for both of them. The silent of the house filling the environment but Jaeyun like this circumstances.

“Take a sit, Jaeyun.”

“You don't need any help?” he asked and Hyejin shook her head.

At last, Jaeyun just sat down at the dining table waiting for Hyejin and their breakfast. After 10 minutes, Hyejin finally served the breakfast to Jaeyun.

It's a few slices of bacon and fried eggs.

Hyejin poured the orange juice into the glass for both of them. She sat down right next to Jaeyun.

“Let's eat!”

None of them talking during breakfast especially Jaeyun. Seems like he had been starving himself for a few day. A thought appears on Hyejin's mind. She can't look at Jaeyun with the same way after know what happened to him.

She needs to help him.

And he needs her help.

Now, they are doing the dishes and having a light conversation. Don't want the awkwardness fills the room again.

“Are you busy?”

“No, why did you ask?”

“I want to meet your mom.”

Jaeyun's hands immediately stopped doing the dishes. He looks at Hyejin with a serious expression. He looks worried and nervous at the same time. Hyejin calmly held his hands.

“I know this will be your reaction. I'm asking you first so I know are you okay with the idea or not.” she added.

“Hyejin, you don't understand. She will become more angry to me if she know you want to meet her. I know you try to fix everything but Hyejin please, I'm afraid something bad will happen.” he answered.

“Yes, I don't understand anything that's why I want to meet your mom. We need a proper talk to clear all of this misunderstanding. I don't care what she can do, what's matter now is you. Your dignity as the first born and as a man. If your own mom tried to ruin you, I will be there for you.”

“I will protect you, Jaeyun.”

“And you will protect me.”

Their hands interwines together, sharing the strength to each other. Jaeyun softly smiled, tightened his grip.

“We both will.”
