The monk explained that the two jewel's were once one but that he divided it in two.
The monk explained that he has sensed some evil forces lurking around the temple, and he fears that they are after the Jewels. He also said that he has received some messages from the other monks, warning him of an impending danger.
He then gave the pink Shikon Jewel to my sister Kikyo, and instructed her to keep it safe from harm. He also gave me the Black Jewel, saying that my spiritual powers are powerful enough to defend it. He said that we need to work together to protect both Jewels from the evil forces and never let the two jewel's be united or else something bad will happen.
The monk explained that the jewels had the power to grant wishes to its possessor, but it was a dangerous object that should be kept away from evil hands. He asked them to take care of it until they find a next worthy recipient for it.
After a long discussion, the two siblings decided to keep the jewel hidden from the world and use its power only when necessary. They knew that the jewel could bring both good and evil to the world,
and they didn't want to take any risk. The monk also warned us of the dangers of greed and temptation, and how they could twist event he purest of intentions into something dark and sinister.
Years Past:
Few years past and for years, we successfully protected the jewels from those who sought to use them for evil. However, one day, my sister Kikyo was mortally wounded in a battle against a demon who she said she loved. I hurriedly went home to our village with Kikyo in my arms. My heart was heavy as I knew that her injuries were too severe for her to recover. As I reached our village, Kikyo asked for her final wish - to be cremated with the shikon jewel and that her remains placed in the village's sacred ground. I promised her that I would honor her wish and make sure that she rests in peace.
The loss of her reached me, I laid Kikyo down on her bed and called for the village healer. He came rushing in, but even his skilled hands could not save Kikyo. She died that night, with me holding her hand and Kaede weeping softly beside her.
My grief was overwhelming. Kikyo was not just my sister, she was also my closest friend and teammate in our mission to protect the jewels. I was filled with anger towards the demon Naruko!! who had taken her away from me, but also with guilt for not being able to protect her.
In the following days, I retreated into myself, barely speaking to anyone, even our younger sister kaede. But eventually, I knew that Kikyo would not want me to give up on our mission. So, I decided to honor my promise to her by cremeting her with her shikon jewel.
I also trained myself even harder to keep the my own jewel safe.
