A/N-

So sorry about the late chapter! I had my exams so this kinda became a back-burner project. Also, I cannot believe almost 1000 people want to read my silly little story!! Thank you all so much!!

She was late. At least late by Lucy Miller standards. Her day had always told her 'You're not on time unless your ten minutes early', and its a rule she's stuck by her whole life.

Bolting through the double door towards the coaches office, it wasn't her Dr Martins slowing her down this time but her straight leg blue jeans. The door exploded open, and she was shocked to see the locker room wasn't empty, again.

Before her stood a bunch of half-naked football players, changing for training. Purely acting on reaction, she turned around, her back facing the player. She threw her hands over her eyes, as though the sight was horrifying. It definitely wasn't. 'I'm so sorry! I was looking for Ted?'

'Aye, you're that girl who fixed Roy's knee!' one of the men spoke,

'Yes! You gave me an ice pack and strapped up my ankle! Thank you very much!' Lucy felt a hand grip her shoulder, the Mexican accent creeping closer to her. The hand spun her around, so they were face to face, Lucy still refusing to take her hands off her eyes. She slowly peaked through her fingers, to see a gorgeously tanned man with flowing shiny black hair in front of her. 'Dani Rojas'

'Sorry?'

'Me' The man pointed to the name on the back of his shirt, 'I'm Dani Rojas! You strapped my ankle and gave me an ice pack! And for that I thank you.' He went to grab her hand, Lucy flinched. Dani looked offended,

'Shit sorry, you caught me off guard' She offered her hand 'The ice pack was no problem, was just doing my job' she shrugged, Dani squeezed her hand gently. It was oddly comforting.

'Your name?' he questioned, a twinkle in his eye and a flash of white teeth creeping across his face.

'Miss Lucy! You made it!' Ted walked in, his voice dragging her away from the gorgeous tan man, he came up to the pair near the door, 'I see you've met Dani!' Lucy nodded, being dragged to the front of the locker room. She could feel her checks burn.

'Hey everyone, this is Miss Lucy Miller. She is going to be our new nurse, she's replacing Chelsey the physio. I'll leave her to introduce herself, Miss Lucy, the floor is yours!' Ted stepped back, leaving Lucy on her own. You could hear a pin drop in the silence.

'Um, just Lucy is fine for future reference.' The boys looked at each other, stunned by her awkwardness, and accent. 'I'm not really sure what you want to hear?' She looked to Ted for reassurance, he just stuck his thumbs up with a cooky grin.  She scanned the room, 'As you can probably hear, I'm from Australia. I took the registered nursing and mental health nurse course at university, then worked part time and studied midwifery part time last year and now I'm here with a couple friends.' She put her hands in her pockets, silenced by the awkwardness of it all.

'What the fuck is she doing here?' Lucy froze at the gruff voice, she couldn't face the man she knows she caused considerable pain. She could hear his footsteps walking towards her.

'Didn't you hear Roy? She's the permeant nurse!' a Welsh voice spoke. Lucy faced Roy and smiled,

'What do we need you for? The fucking seasons just ended, and we were kicked from the premier league?' Ted went to answer for the girl, but she wasn't about to let this prick get the best of her. She rolled her shoulders back, producing a very faked alure of confidence, she looked the man up and down.

'I don't need you to like me, I'm here to do my job and get a pay check, because what I do need,' she took a step towards the man towering over her, her heart was pounding a million miles a minute and she could feel the whole room holding its breath, 'is to support my friends. Get over your ego, I'm here for the team, not for you.' Roy was staring her down through his eyebrows, but the girl stood her ground, meeting his chocking gaze.

'Fuck!' He stormed past her and out the door. Lucy, along with the entire room, exhaled. She looked at Beard and Ted, who nodded in approval, then turned to the team,

'Anyways...' She trailed off, not really knowing where to go from here. She turned back to Ted, 'You said there was a Rebecca that wanted to meet me?'

'Yes, of course! Right this way Lucy' He turned towards the door, and Lucy waved to the boys, stills struck with silence.

                                                                                                ***

'And this is Rebecca's office!' Ted came to a halt at the door, his tour of the facility coming to an end. After showing her around the entire damn place, she was finally able to meet the incredible Rebecca Welton. She had seen all over the news about her messy divorce, and how the media called her stone cold for not having a single public emotion about the matter.

Ted waltzed in like the office was his own, while Lucy hung shyly behind him. 'Hey Boss!', his smile and cheerful tones reverberated around the room.

'Hello Ted,' Rebecca sighed, clearly exhausted by the early morning, 'What can I do for you?' She eyed Lucy as Ted grabbed her arm and dragged her forward from behind him. Front and centre.

'May I introduce the newest addition to the Richmond family... Miss Lucy Miller!' Ted smiled and framed her with jazz hands, but his overly theatrical introduction, though sweet, made her sweat. She despised being the centre of attention. Almost as if Rebecca could sense her nervousness, she stood up from her desk and walked up to the girl, who was trying to make herself as small as possible, and low key wishing a hole in the floor would mysteriously appear and swallow her. Rebecca gracefully moved her arm to an appropriate shaking position, and Lucy shook it, with as much class as she could muster.

'Ah yes Lucy Miller, I have heard a lot about you!' she eyed Ted, 'Replacing Chelsey, correct?' Rebecca spoke with a certain perfected elegance, something you learn and perfect, and are not born with.

'Yes, I believe so.' Lucy's harsh accent shattered Rebecca's smooth glass tones.

'It is wonderful to finally meet' Rebecca portrayed a polite smile, to which Lucy attempted to mirror,

'Likewise.'

                                                                                             ***

After a morning of contracts, paperwork and introductions, Lucy could finally do what she did best, helping people. And as much as she hated the beginning, Lucy knew her journey with Richmond, no matter how it goes, will be one to remember.

Running out onto the pitch to meet with the three coaches and the players, who were running drills, Lucy exhaled the breath she felt she had been holding for the past few hours. She wasn't sure what the expectation was for her with this being the last the last training session of the season due to the expelling of Richmond from the Premier league, a very much still open wound for the boys, so she stood back and watched.

As training came to an end, a player with a thick Welsh accent jogged up to Lucy and her spot situated behind the drinks table.

'Lucy yeah?' he had mousey brown hair and green eyes laced with trouble,

'Yeah, that's me, how can I help...' she trailed off, spoon feeding him to filling the blank with his name,

'Colin' Lucy smiled,

'Right. How can I help you Colin?'

'Actually, this isn't really a medical thing.' Lucy cocked her head to the side quizzingly, 'I'm throwing a party at my place, would you wanna come? I know its your first day and that but I figured what better way to get to know the boys better you know?' Lucy smiled at the invitation,

'Can I bring a friend?'
